ONE OF THE GREAT ASSETS you must possess to win Victories in Marriage is Oneness with God. It’s not enough that you know that there’s God in Heaven. You have the need to be in a consistent union with Him as a couple.
In the year I got married, several others got married. As time went on, however, some of those marriages failed. Not because the couples were not truly for each other but because there are forces that raise diabolical “hurricanes and tempests” across the earth, specifically to capsize marriages. That’s why you see so many wrecked marriages littered on the high seas that’s called Life!
In our anchor scripture for today we see Elijah the Tishbite receiving divine instructions from God on the next thing to do.
At the time of these instructions, if any man in Israel had enemies it was Elijah. The ruler of Israel, King Ahab, was against him. His demonic and sorcerer Wife, Jezebel was vehemently against him. The hundreds of thousands of Baal worshippers across Israel were after him. All the hundreds of false prophets of Baal were against him. But because Elijah was in FULL UNION with God, he was in Israel and his millions of enemies were helpless before him. Why? Because when a man is in true union with God, God ensures that no forces on earth would succeed in harming him. Not just that, God ensures that his enemies lick the dust at his feet!
In the first verse of our anchor scripture, Elijah boldly declared: “As the Lord God of Israel liveth, BEFORE WHOM I STAND”!! Think of of these audacious words! He wasn’t just a Believer in God, no! He was a man who STOOD BEFORE GOD! He was always in the divine presence of God. Not just on fellowship days. It was always! This connotes holiness and holy living.
How are you living dear Husband? How are you living dear Wife? It’s okay to profess Salvation but exactly how are you living TODAY? Have you not since compromised?
You know you’re a married woman but there’s someone in the office who’s touching you inappropriately behind closed doors and you’re enjoying it, which is why you’ve not told him to stop all these months or even years. And because you haven’t fully undressed yet, you’ve convinced yourself that you haven’t sinned. How would God come to your rescue on the day that satanic tempests and hurricanes come sweeping off your precious home?
God’s Word says: “The Lord is good, a stronghold in the day of trouble, HE KNOWETH THEM THAT TRUST IN HIM”(Nahum 1:7). Even though God delivers in the day of trouble, that service He gives to those who trust in Him and
depart from sin and unrighteousness.
Bottom line is: there will be mighty tornadoes, storms, tempests and hurricanes masterminded to capsize marriages. If you want to have Victory again and again over these forces, you must be in union with God. Stop all the Long Distance Romancing you’ve been doing with your Ex.
Repent of all the WhatsApp video conversations you’ve had with “that Man” while in the bathroom or just in your see through night gown. Repent of your Emotional Adulteries, and all the other things you’ve doing behind your spouse’s back.
God hasn’t disgraced you yet because He wants you to read this. What you’ve been calling “Small Sin” isn’t small in God’s sight. Marriage is a deep Covenant and breaking it in any way is no small sin before God!!!
