ONLY YESTERDAY, I READ A JOURNALIST’S report written after doing a survey on the level of sexual satisfaction among married women. From his report, only about 25 percent of wives experience sexual fulfillment in marriage. Even though many will not agree with his finding, I staunchly do, having been in a ministry that deals with married couples for over two decades.
God gave Sex as a gift to married couples. And it’s His intention that both spouses enjoy it EQUALLY. A situation where one party enjoys it and the other doesn’t is certainly not His will. Such a situation amounts to robbery, particularly when it persists for years; and the “culprit” needs to be spoken to since he cannot be arrested.
Man was made before the woman. Ever before he was given the woman, his male “apparatus” for sexual performance was in position in his body from day to day, but God deliberately never said a word about his use of it. God waited until the woman was beside him before saying anything about Sex(Genesis 1:28). Why? Because Man was never designed to have sexual satisfaction all by himself, which is why solo sexual practices like masturbation are wrong. Just as it was not good for man to be alone so also is it not good for him to have Sex all alone and with himself. God designed Sex to be had with a fellow human being of the opposite sex and they must be one’s legitimate Spouse. All this make it obvious that approaches to sexual satisfaction such as the use of sex toys and sex machines are not in accord with God’s plan for human sexuality and are therefore wrong.
Secondly, God waited until the woman was present with Man before “commissioning” human sexual activity(Genesis 1: 28) because it’s to be had by husband and wife; and the two are equal stakeholders in the delightful activity. Each of them has as much right as the other to enjoy it FULLY. Therefore, a situation in which the husband hurriedly begins the activity, focuses only on his enjoyment and concludes it all within 3 to 4 minutes; and then proceeds to sleep, is not only very annoying and wrong, but mean and self-centered; and needs to be addressed URGENTLY.
