MANY ARE BORN AGAIN, PROPERLY MARRIED AND HOLD KEY POSITIONS IN THEIR LOCAL CHURCHES, yet they practice Sinners’ Marriage. And the most pathetic aspect is that they don’t even know it. In their ignorance, they believe that theirs is a Christian union whereas it just isn’t.
Our anchor scripture passage makes it clear that it’s not only the godly who do good or show love. Sinners also practice love and they carry out good works as well. However, their practice of Love is controlled by a fixed Principle and it’s this: LOVE THOSE WHO LOVE YOU AND DO GOOD TO ONLY THOSE WHO DO GOOD TO YOU! Sadly, this is the practice in most marriages today.
By this carnal and devilish “Principle”, husband’s show love to their wives based on her conduct. When she “misbehaves” some marital benefits due her are suspended until she “improves in character.”
Based on this “Principle” many wives have hijacked Sexual Intimacy in their marriage and made themselves “The Duchess-in-Charge-of-Sex”. When the husband is of “bad behaviour” in the view of the “Duchess”, he would be denied Sex. Of course , she’d create feigned reasons why she can’t sleep with him. If he offended her, he must pay with sexual starvation for a week, two or even longer; to learn his lessons! If he brings her a surprise present, ohh, she’s excited and that night he’ll be allowed entry into “Yerushalaim”. Brethren, these things ought not to be so.
Marriage is a Covenant Life. Husbands are to love their wives irrespective of their conduct or behaviour for the simple reason that it’s their matrimonial right to be loved by their husbands unconditionally. Similarly, it’s the husband’s right to be served steamy sex every time he requests it; except, of course, for when there’s a mutually agreed Fast ongoing.
Is yours a marriage of the godly or a marriage of sinners?
