MANY CHRISTIAN WOMEN SEE THE VIRTUOUS WOMAN of Proverbs 31 as their role model and “Mentorโ. They admire her resourcefulness, kindness, wisdom, industriousness and enterprising spirit. To them, therefore, being a virtuous woman is all about being hardworking and almost always engaged with one activity or another. After all, doesn’t the account of the life of the virtuous woman say that
she “eateth not the bread of idleness.” ?(Proverbs 31: 27b). Well, everything said about the virtuous woman above are correct. However, that is not the full picture of that great lady as portrayed by Proverbs 31.
Our anchor scripture passage shows the very first things said about the famous woman. Her relationship with her husband and her life as a Wife are first set forth. Why? Because they come first. She’s first a man’s wife before she’s an investor, a kind-hearted woman, a hard worker, etc. Her first assignment in life is to be a good wife. After excelling there, then she could be a good woman outside. Charity must first begin at home or else it isn’t true charity.
From our anchor scriptures, we can deduce that the virtuous woman prioritized her husband and her marriage, which is how it should be. Today, many housewives are missing it big time because “the things outside” have become more important to them than “The Man At Home”. This isn’t right.
The first thing our anchor scripture passage tells us about the virtuous woman is THE POSITION OF HER HUSBAND’S HEART TOWARDS HER. She enjoys total and implicit trust from her Man. That verse(verse 11) goes on to tell us that her husband lacks nothing. He enjoys all the “booties” or bounties that are his in his relationship with her. This definitely includes lavish and constant romantic and sexual satisfaction that left no room for strange women to tempt her man.
Oh, you had always thought that the virtuous woman only worked, worked and worked and then would go to the synagogue and pray for hours and then return home to sit at her loom and thereafter keep awake all night making Girdles to sell to merchants? No! She was a red-blooded woman with breasts, nipples, luscious lips, a beautiful clitoris and a fiery libido; and she was not hypocritical!! Verse 12 of our scripture passage tells us that she continually did her husband good and never evil all throughout her life with him. This means she wasn’t just a resourceful woman who brought much wealth into the family. She was also a faithfully and fervently romantic, affectionate, passionate and sexually thrilling housewife whose bedroom efficiency was always 100%; and her husband consequently never needed to steal glances at other women.
Beloved, if your picture of the virtuous woman has been that of an ever busy Madam who had no time to be with her husband and serve him as his ROMANTIC AND SEXUAL LOVER, then it’s high time you dropped that picture.
The Biblical Virtuous Woman of Proverbs 31 was first a sweet, sultry, voluptuous and sensationally sexy woman in the bedroom before she appeared as a successful lady outside. If she’s your role model, then prioritize your relationship with your husband first and thereafter build other things.
