WHEN GOD EXTRACTED THE LONE RIB from the side of Adam, He could have made it a girl-child, a maiden, a teenage girl of 16,17, 18. Or even a young woman of 20, but didn’t. He instead made the Rib into A FULL GROWN ADULT WOMAN with drooping breasts. She was complete with curves and contours, thigh dimples, stretch marks, lovely big hips and sexy, protrusive backsides. Why? Because God had the taste of the person for whom He was making her fully in mind. He wasn’t a boy but a full grown, total adult Man and needed a total woman.

Dear housewife, Marriage is the domain where you were created to bring out ALL THE WOMANHOOD YOU HAVE AND ALL THE WOMAN THAT YOU ARE! Very sadly, many of you are still playing. You only offer your husband a little of yourself and that once in a while because you’ve been taught by your friends that “it’s not lady-like to give much of yourself to a man.” And that’s why many of your husbands are still going out, despite your jaw-dropping beauty and your disarming bodily endowments. But let’s look at one of those kind of ladies that are outside and to whom men troop out every night. Let’s travel back in time to the valley of Sorek in Philistia. We’re “visiting” Delilah the woman who understood the power of womanhood and how to use it. She’s the woman who kept Samson UNTIL she accomplished hell’s mission as handed to her by the five Lords of the Philistines.

Samson was a unique breed among men. His kind never existed before him nor after. He was a lion killer, a city-gate plunderer and a mass-destroyer of warriors. But when he met Delilah, he was DETAINED never to go back to Israel FOREVER! His hands, brain, eyes, mind, and indeed everything in his being were intact and functional but he couldn’t leave the valley of Sorek. Why? Because Delilah the woman with the “Power of Detention” kept him. How? She fenced him with her tender, gentle and pampering arms as well as with her beautiful and alluring legs.

I’m concerned for the millions of properly and legally married housewives who have THE POWER OF RETENTION but are not using it to RETAIN AND SAFEGUARD their husbands from straying into the bosoms of modern day Jezebels and Delilahs but are instead busy contending with them in the home!

A Pastor once told me how his wife kept threatening him over and over that she would destroy his Ministry. And then one day, she moved out his house. That’s a woman who didn’t know the value of marriage and a husband.

Delilah didn’t keep Samson by threats, oppositions and fights. No. She knew better. She was GRACIOUS to him, even though she was GRACELESS in heart and soul.

If a daughter of darkness could demonstrate the attributes of Graciousness(Prov.11:16), and keep Samson till the END, what are you a born again christian wife doing, saying that you’re tired of your covenant husband?

Let’s dash to Ecclesiastes:

“And I find more bitter than death THE WOMAN, whose heart is snares and nets, and HER HANDS AS BANDS: whoso pleaseth God shall escape from her; but the sinner shall be TAKEN BY HER.” (Ecclesiastes 7:26)

The verse above describes the kind of female that Delilah was. She was A WOMAN whose heart was like nets for catching men and her hands were like chains for tying them down, so they’d never escaped. Did Samson escape after he came in contact with her heart, the embrace of her arms, the caresses of her hands and the kisses of her lips? No!

If Delilah who had no Holy Ghost Fire in her could detain a righteous man, how come that you a Christian housewife who’s ever in church house cannot RETAIN your husband’s tender love and affection?

If the heart of strange women is like nets and their hands are chains(Ecclesiastes 7: 26), what stops you, O Daughter of Christ from seeing to it that your own heart is like a Paradise and your hands like Milk and Honey, making your husband always wanting to be in your embrace? If Delilah could keep Samson, you can do more in keeping your husband.
