WHEN JESUS SPOKE THE WORDS IN MATTHEW 5: 16,
“Let YOUR LIGHT so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven”, the Light He meant isn’t the handheld torchlight, a kerosene lantern, a shinning fluorescent tube or even a blazing electric floodlight lamp. The light He meant is YOUR LIFE and all aspects of it, including your Marriage.

God wants your Marriage and every aspect of it to be so spectacularly glorious that men would have no option but to say: “This couple’s Marriage is simply heavenly. It’s an evidence that God’s power could express itself through any facet of life, including a Marriage!” This is what happened in 1740, when George Whitefield, a British Minister of the Gospel saw the Marriage of Jonathan Edwards and his wife.

George Whitefield had gone on a preaching tour of the United States of America.
In the course of his mission, he visited Jonathan Edwards, one of the leading Ministers in the United States at the time. He was so impacted by the marvellous and beautiful Marriage of the Edwards that when he returned to England, he married the very next year, 1741! He saw no need to remain a Bachelor any further since Marriage is so good! The Marriage of the Edwards made him see the grandeur of Matrimony!

God’s will it is that your Marriage will be so wondrously successful it inspires some modern day “George Whitefield” to marry soon.

I remember long ago when I was at Idah in Kogi State, Nigeria. There was a particular christian couple I saw again and again as they drove to town in their grey Volvo car; either to shop or for church fellowship or something else. I always saw harmony, oneness and cordiality between them from a distance.
What I saw from afar clearly told me that they had a good and serene matrimony.

According to our anchor scripture, your sexual virility, soundness and lushness in old age GIVE EVIDENCE AND TESTIMONY
that the Lord is upright:

“They shall still bring forth fruit IN OLD AGE;
THEY SHALL BE FULL OF SAP AND GREEN:
To show that Jehovah is upright;
He is my rock, and there is no unrighteousness in him.” (Psalm 92:14-15; ASV)

Your sexual health, strength and vigour in OLD AGE don’t say that you’re carnal or worldly. Far from it!! Instead, they’re proof that God keeps those who follow and serve Him alive and GROWING in all aspects of their lives, including their bedroom life.

If you and your Spouse are now 80 years old or above and have felt it’s no more necessary to keep your bedroom life HOT, then today’s devotional message is specially for you. Don’t shutdown that department of your Marriage; because God still needs that part of your life to keep burning brighter and higher for His glory and as a testimony that He takes excellent care of every detail of His people’s lives.
