IN YESTERDAY’S DEVOTIONAL PIECE, we saw that the Christian housewife is in her husband’s life as a person of great power and influence to motivate, prompt, affect and arouse him to serve God much more than he would ordinarily; just like Jezebel negatively impacted King Ahab to serve the devil to the extreme.
Today, we are looking at the Christian housewife as the female counterpart of her husband and his LOVER.
Much as it wonderful for the Christian housewife to be spiritual, the truth is that she needs to also be womanish. Her husband needs her to be his girly girl! She should be a walking personification of the woman in Proverbs 5: 19 whose elegance and gracefulness endlessly captivates her man and he’s always lost in her love:
“A LOVING DEER, A GRACEFUL DOE— LET HER BREASTS ALWAYS SATISFY YOU; BE LOST IN HER LOVE FOREVER.”(Proverbs 5:19; CSB)
A Christian housewife must never lose sight of the fact that she’s in her man’s life FIRSTLY as his lover, his female counterpart and his sex partner.
She’s in his life as his companion to provide an electrifying feminine presence that erases all feelings of loneliness.
Some christian housewives think that giving them selves continually to prayer like Mama Anna (Luke 2: 36-37) is the way to go. They however forget that they are different from Mama Anna.
Mama Anna was a WIDOW. She was married for just seven years and after her husband’s passing, she chose to live in the temple and devote her life to God and served Him with fasting and prayer. But you are different! You are married and living with a husband. You can certainly fast and pray but you must also remember that you’re a wife, a lover, a female counterpart and sex partner to a healthy and red-blooded man who is still alive and you must be fully up and doing in your duties in all aspects of marriage!
It’s good to make the virtuous woman of Proverbs 31 your role model. However, you need to also understand that she wasn’t only hardworking, industrious and enterprising. She lived a balanced life. The first few verses (Prov.31:11-12) wherein she is introduced tell us that she was first of all a Lover to her husband in the home before being a great entrepreneur outside.
“11 THE HEART OF HER HUSBAND DOTH SAFELY TRUST IN HER, SO THAT HE SHALL HAVE NO NEED OF SPOIL.
12 SHE WILL DO HIM GOOD AND NOT EVIL ALL THE DAYS OF HER LIFE.” (Proverbs 31:10-12)
Can you see? The virtuous woman was COMPLETELY COMMITTED to her husband. She prioritized her husband, her marriage and their bedroom life as a couple. Do you know why? She was not a hypocrite!!! She wasn’t in denial of her reality. She didn’t try to pretend that she was some “Super Woman” who could stay without a man. No! She knew herself: that she was a red-blooded woman with breasts and nipples that craved to be caressed; luscious lips that she enjoyed being kissed; a beautiful clitoris that’s endowed with over 10,000 nerve endings and needed to be fondled BY HER HUSBAND and not by herself; and she had a fiery libido that only her husband should satisfy. And she wasn’t going to risk falling into Sin with the business men she associated with by neglecting regular sexual intimacy with her husband.
So the Virtuous woman of Proverbs 31 wasn’t an overzealous, irrational and empty-headed religious fanatic.
No! She was a true child of God who knew that her husband and her marriage came FIRST before businesses and moneymaking enterprises.
Is it any wonder that her husband trusted her implicitly and gave her the liberty to do business far and near with men? (Proverbs 31:16, 24).
Dear Christian housewife, you’re in your husband’s life to satisfy his love for the feminine gender and to control his attraction towards them. That’s why we earlier said that you need to be womanish; be your man’s girlie girl and the personification of the Proverbs 5:19 woman.
(A) BE WOMANISH. This is behaving in a way that’s characteristic or typical of the female gender. It’s to be typically feminine.
In Genesis 1:27, God’s Word says that “Male and Female created He them”. This being so, your husband likes the full and natural feminine mien or manners.
Sadly, many women in our days are largely male in appearance and some are even more so in their behaviour, thinking that it makes them appear “tough”.
In marriage, a Christian housewife should be a full and complete woman; and happily so.
When you’re womanish or typically feminine, you’ll blend naturally with your husband.
(2) BE YOUR HUSBAND’S GIRLIE GIRL!
Wiktionary defines a Girlie girl as “A WOMAN WHO BEHAVES IN A PREDOMINANTLY FEMININE WAY.”
The characteristics of such a woman include giving attention to looking charming and attractive.
When a wife does this, her husband finds her both attractive, alluring and compellingly seductive. He’s naturally drawn to her. In short, he can’t take his hands off her!
(3) BE A PERSONIFICATION OF THE PROVERBS 5: 19 WOMAN
There are three things about the woman who personifies this verse:
*She’s graceful and beautiful!
*She’s romantic minded and acts accordingly. She allows her husband unhindered access to her breasts which are the symbols of romance.
*She ravishes her husband. Meaning: she sweeps him off his feet sexually. She’s not your run of the mill passive and non responsive wife who bores her husband in the bedroom. She’s active-aggressive in lovemaking.
She KNOWS her husband’s love fantasies, idiosyncrasies and the parts of her body that are his “hotspots” and takes time to dress up for him emphasizing those parts of her body in the bedroom; just to feed his eyes. With her womanish, girlie girl and PFN(Proverbs 5: 19) lifestyle, her husband is ever well-fed romantically and sexually and doesn’t desire any strange woman!
