TODAY, WE’RE REVISITING THE LAST PART of the teaching in yesterday’s devotional piece that’s tagged: TRANSFORMING INTO AN ADEPT LOVER AND AN AGENT OF RESCUE.
We’ll start with transforming into an agent of rescue
(1) TRANSFORMING INTO AN AGENT OF RESCUE
When God spoke the words of Genesis 2: 18 promising to create a HELPER for Adam, the HELPER He had in mind was someone far more than an “attendant” who’d assist him in his horticultural work. God had a loftier HELPER in mind. As has been taught in some of our previous devotional messages, the word translated HELPER in the English Bible is EZER in Hebrew and means: AN AGENT OF RESCUE, A STRONG HELPER, A STRONG POWER. As it’s apparent, these are no roles for a weakling or the spineless. So, every wife is STRONG! Strong enough to handle her man and move him from error to righteousness. Strong enough to help him up when he’s fallen. Strong enough to help fight his assailants and successfully rescue him (Ecclesiastes 4:9-12).
So, if your husband is treading the dangerous path of infidelity, don’t be angry. Recognize your calling as AN AGENT OF RESCUE and rise up to the occasion.
For instance, when a Mariner or Lifeguard hears the cries of a drowning man, he doesn’t stand idle blaming the fellow for jumping into the river when he’s not sure of his swimming skills. He instead rushes to prepare himself and quickly jumps into the water to rescue the drowning man. Dear wife, that’s your role when your husband is drowning in the river of strange women! Act as AN AGENT OF RESCUE! And one of the things you will do to successfully rescue him is to BECOME an adept sex partner to him!
(2) BECOMING AN ADEPT SEX PARTNER
What’s the meaning of the word ADEPT?
An ADEPT is a person who is skilled or proficient at something. He’s AN EXPERT, A MASTER, A VIRTUOSO!
About five weeks ago, I woke up one morning to find the land at the back of my house transformed into a big and beautiful farm with huge heaps that are excellent for growing yams. Seeing the quality and the large number of heaps, I concluded that those farmers were no amateur hands trying their best on the virgin land. They must be masters and experts in farming yams. By the time I later saw them and heard their language, I nodded my head. They came from the part of Nigeria’s Middle Belt Region that’s very famous for growing yams.
Many Spouses after several years of marriage are still amateurish and unskillful in the area of sexual intimacy and they see nothing wrong with it.
For goodness sake, this is a service you alone are divinely authorized to render to your mate and it’s important that you’re not just good but PROFICIENT AND VERSATILE at it. It’s no virtue or mark of spirituality to say, “Well, I really don’t care much about Sex. I’m a Prayer Warrior and have much groaning and travailing to do every night!” Listen, dearly beloved. If you were a celibate Priest, a Monk or a Mother Superior in a Convent, that saying would be tenable. But since you voluntarily chose to be married, God’s will is that you don’t only faithfully attend to your Spouse’s sexual needs but that you bring EXCELLENCE, DIVERSITY, VARIETY, COLOUR AND STYLE into it. There’s the need to do it with panache! Your marriage Partner deserves deluxe sex; that is, superlative sex.
Even in our feeding, we introduce variety and that makes our meals interesting. Similarly, you must avoid monotony in your sexual life. If your husband or wife complains that a particular sex style is becoming boring, please listen to them. That’s part of being a sex adept.
One of the reasons people go into infidelity is to find sexual variety. When you provide it at home, your spouse will not go outside.
So you can become an expert, a master and a virtuoso in sex. That’s one of the important things to do to keep your marriage. For instance, I heard a wife who teaches marriage call herself: A ONE MAN PROSTITUTE! She had made up her mind to give her husband all manner of sexual thrills that are within the boundaries of righteousness. When a man has such a woman: a wife who has made herself A ONE MAN PROSTITUTE FOR HIM, what would make him think of going to the strange women outside who are EVERYBODY’S PROSTITUTE?
So, choose to be a Sex Adept in your marriage. You’ll be glad you took that decision and your marriage will be the better for it.
