OUR ANCHOR SCRIPTURE FOR TODAY:
“If you are alone, one person might attack you and hurt you. But two people together can help each other to win the fight.” (Ecclesiastes 4:12A; EASY)
IN LIFE, DON’T FOR ANY REASON EXPECT THAT you’ll not face severe external attacks again and again; and in diverse forms. Sure enough, we all pray for a happy and peaceful existence but because the Earth is a planet of continual strife, we must be always prepared.
Apart from the fact that the Earth is a battlefield, YOU as a person, are a threat to many people. Yes, there are people who find your existence and what you stand for intimidating, a challenge, an obstacle, and a hindrance to their wicked agenda.
Now, in view of the fact that the Earth is a battlefield, it means that Spouses are not only Romantic Lovers but Battle Buddies, Brother-in-Arms and Fellowsoldiers.
When Adam stood idle by while the Serpent conversed with his wife, he was in grave error and was making the greatest mistake of his life! He should have respectfully shoved Eve aside and confronted the Serpent headlong with God’s Word about the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil; and the devil would have fled. But he neither stood with Eve nor speak out. He just watched indolently and when Eve offered him the fruit, he ate it without any hesitation. In short, a great battle came to his very doorsteps and he unfortunately left his wife to face it all alone. And that’s how humanity was defeated long ago because of the failure of a husband to recognize an enemy and a battle. Meanwhile, one of his assignments in the Garden was to keep it, protect it and guard it against intruders or enemies.(Genesis 2:15).
On the day you got married, God made you and your Spouse One Flesh. Right from that moment, you became each other’s Aide De Camp or ADC. You are to defend each other against unloving In-laws, Outlaws, the Lawless and indeed every shade of enemy: both temporary and permanent, male and female, etc.
Love entails going the whole hog, reaching the farthest extent possible to show your commitment, allegiance and loyalty to the person you cherish.
If your Partner is under attack, step out boldly in their defense. Some have the cowardly approach of pacifying the aggressor instead of standing up for their Mate and telling the Aggressor he’s wrong, whoever he may be.
Long before I got married, a beautiful married christian woman whom I was close to confided in me about how her highly placed Boss in the Office was on her neck to have an affair with him. But she told the lustful man she could never do it. Yet he was persistent. Now, you’d wonder why she didn’t tell her husband. Well, he didn’t love her and had no time for her; despite her beauty. Instead, he’d cruise around town with other women.
So, she must have felt like, “Even if I tell him, what else will he do if not to blame me.” In those days, I was a person she could confide her personal battles to and I told her very firmly, “NEVER YIELD TO YOUR BOSS’S EVIL DEMANDS. HE’S A WICKED MAN!” I happened to know the so-called Boss ever before I knew her and I found it a big letdown that he could ask a married woman for such when he’s himself married.
Therefore, it’s important that ever before the enemy surfaces, Spouses are both of one mind, one heart, one speech and one language. This enables them to be open to each other and to carry one another along on whatever challenges they’re facing.
The Builders of the Tower of Babel had great success in their project because of one thing: UNITY. Hear what God Almighty said about them:
“And the Lord said, Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: AND NOW NOTHING WILL BE RESTRAINED FRONT THEM, WHICH THEY HAVE IMAGINED TO DO.”(Genesis 11:6)
Unity makes you and your Spouse a formidable team that tower high above your enemies. It makes you able to achieve whatever you both set your hearts upon to accomplish.
When a couple is firmly united, they enjoy divine mercy, favour, help and accelerated growth. This is because Unity is like the Anointing Oil and the refreshing Dews of mount Hermon and Mount Zion(Psalm 133).
When a couple is united, they’re open to divine ideas that will make they’re enemies go berserk, throwing them into panic and disarray; and making them look sheepish; and causing them to become objects of public ridicule, mockery, taunts and derision!

🔥LET YOU AND YOUR SPOUSE DROP ALL FORMS OF DIVISIVENESS AND CHOOSE UNITY TODAY, IN THE MIGHTY NAME OF JESUS!
🍷🍗 TAKE-HOME LESSON: UNITY IS ONE OF YOUR GREATEST ASSETS IN MARRIAGE. BE UNITED, BECAUSE THAT’S ONE OF YOUR STRENGTHS IN THE DAY OF TROUBLE !
