I WAS ONLY A NEW CONVERT AND IN MY EARLY TWENTIES when I began reading in christian literature the statistics of divorces in the United States and some other western countries. I read about solid evangelical preachers suddenly throwing all caution to the wind and divorcing their wives. And as I grew older in age and in faith, I didn’t just read but saw marriages collapse. I can remember being greatly distressed after I arrived one of our Nigerian cities for Ministry work only to hear that a Servant of God that was once good to me had parted ways with his strikingly beautiful wife. At this time, I wasn’t teaching Marriage yet but the news made me emotionally sick.

Every year, especially during the Christmas period, thousands walk merrily to the Altar of God to say “I Do”. No one ever makes the mistake of saying, “I Don’t!”. The right words are spoken, good prayers are offered, melodious songs are sung, the new couple dance with gorgeous dance steps, yet most of those Marriages only end up merely EXISTING but not really living. Living means THRIVING. Most of those Marriages just don’t thrive! What’s missing? The answer is in our anchor scripture for today.

In our anchor scripture, we’re shown the nourishments that sustain human lives. While one is physical the other is completely different. It’s spiritual and therefore the superior of the two nourishments. That second nourishment is the Word of God.

Recently, I saw a Chart that shows various foods and fruits and which parts of the body they specially nourish. This means that even though God has given us food in abundance, there’s need for knowledge in how and what we eat.

Dear Spouses, do you know that the Word of God even though presented to us in one volume called the Bible is for different parts of our lives just as foods and fruits are for different parts of our bodies?

Sir/Ma, if you want your Marriage to live and thrive and not just merely exist, then reading about St Paul’s first and second missionary journies isn’t what will help you. If you want a vibrant, strong and an ever growing union, then read the Word of God on Marriage and obey them; and your relationship with your Spouse will be well nourished; resulting in a romantic and passionate Marriage that you and your Spouse will never be tired of.

No husband needs side-chicks and no wife side-dudes!!!!! It’s the ignorance of the Word of God on Marriage that has stricken men and women with a strange visual impairment that makes them see strange women as attractive and desirable.

Dear Spouses, you need to feed on God’s Word on Marriage on DAILY BASIS. Your personal love life needs it! Your Marriage needs it! And one of the simplest ways of doing this is to create time to read Lovebirds’ Devotional every day. This way, you’re feeding your love life the spiritual nourishment from God’s Word. When you do this consistently, your romantic muscles grow stronger, your sense of fidelity and faithfulness to your spouse will be always keenly alert and your consciousness of the consequences of extramarital affairs will be very high. (Most of those who fell into sexual scandals did so because they forgot the heavy costs that come with it.)

The Word of God on Marriage is a carrier of God’s power of sexual healing and renewal. Hear the Scripture:

“HE SENT HIS WORD, AND HEALED THEM, AND DELIVERED THEM FROM THEIR DESTRUCTIONS.”(Psalm 107:20)
Can you see? It’s not until a Preacher lays hands on you before you can be healed of erectile dysfunction or any other marital infirmities. Reading God’s Word on Marriage can lead to your experience of marital healings and deliverance.
Believing the Faith Decrees that are given in this devotional daily will most certainly lead to their fulfillment and actualization in your life.

Finally, it’s not enough to only read God’s Word on Marriage. Put what you read to action by faithful obedience to them and yours will be a strong, romantic and sexually vibrant Marriage.
