Moabite women in their scores of hundreds, if not thousands; to seduce the men of Israel, so they’d come out to the their Pagan sacrifices(Numbers 25:1-3). It worked like magic as the men of Israel in their thousands, completely unaware that it was a well planned sexual war, trooped out, took part in their idolatrous sacrifices, and took the free, beautiful, Moabite women to bed. And then, Death struck the camp of Israel! Twenty four thousand Israelite men died in ONE DAY by divine Judgement(Numbers 25:9). Twenty four thousand men! Think about that.
Now, among the twenty four thousand Israelites that died, 1000 of them were LEADERS! It means that the temptation posed by the hundreds or thousands of sexy Moabite women was so strong and so fierce that even Leaders were swept off their feet into Sin! Do you now understand why God tells housewives in Proverbs 5:19B to be sexually intoxicating to their husbands at home and to sweep them off their feet romantically and sexually? It’s because whatever you enjoy extravagantly at home will not entice you outside!
Remember that the Bible say:
“IF THOU FAINT IN THE DAY OF ADVERSITY, THY STRENGTH IS SMALL” (Proverbs 24:10).
The 1000 leaders demonstrated that their moral strength was small. If they had strong, passionate and affectionate relationships with their wives and had been feeding well sexually in their marriages, they wouldn’t have so easily succumbed to Adultery.
What’s the lesson at this point? It’s that sexual temptations are like winds. Some are like a mere breeze: you walk past them unmoved and unhurt. However, there are others that are like tornadoes, hurricanes or tempests. It takes being strong in your marriage to stand up against them. And that’s why it’s important to have a strong marriage relationship with your Spouse ahead of any evil wind of sexual temptations.
Here’s another instance of the warfare dimension of Sex.
For years, the Philistines sought to kill Samson but couldn’t. Then they engaged the services of Delilah, a commercial sex worker. She used Sex as a weapon of warfare, discovered the secret of Samson’s great power, successfully shaved off his Nazirite hairs and rendered him powerless.
To Satan, Sex isn’t a joke thing; it’s a mighty weapon of war and mass destruction. It’s only unspiritual Spouses who lack God’s revelation on Sex that see Sex as something funny, a plaything and a trivia they could afford to deny their husbands or wives of whenever there’s the slightest misunderstanding.
But if you’re wise, then know that as a married person,
sexual intimacy with your Spouse is your Armour of protection against the devil’s fiery arrows of lust, lasciviousness and evil concupiscence. But the question comes: Do you wear this Armour of protection everyday?
If your Spouse is born again or even a christian leader then remember that he or she is a King and a Priest to God; a Soldier in the Army of Christ, a Labourer in God’s end time harvest and therefore a threat to the devil. Do I need to tell you that Satan earnestly seeks to bring such a husband or wife down through the use of sexual weaponry?
Therefore, see your sexual responsibilities towards each other as the serious and solemn work that it is.
Enough of fabricating excuses or even telling lies just not to be available for sexual intimacy with your Spouse when you really can.
Finally, hear this secret: when you wholeheartedly make love to each other at night, you’re destroying the power of the satanic snares, traps and ambushes the devil has laid for you and your Spouse to walk into the next day.
