IN YESTERDAY’S DEVOTIONAL PIECE, WE SAW that to transform from mere married couples to Ardent Romantics involves not just learning new things but UNLEARNING and throwing out all the junk that fuel sheer animal lust. We therefore dwelt on the fact that Married Romantic Lovers see only one person of the opposite in the entire world: their marriage Partner! They’re blind to everyone else; who ever they may be. We also noted that their eyes, minds, hearts and bodies are filled with their Spouse and so there’s no room for infidelity.
Today, we are looking at:
MARRIED ROMANTIC LOVERS BOTH OPERATE ON “HIGH TENSION LOVE”!
Operating on High Tension Love makes your union EXTREMELY HOT. So HOT that no home-wrecking Jezebel or marriage-breaking Delilah can come close.
Our term “High Tension Love” is borrowed from the Electricity World. In the Electric Power world, “High Tension Electricity” refers to electrical power transmitted at HIGH VOLTAGES.
Similarly, when we talk about “HIGH TENSION LOVE” we mean that state of LOVE, PASSION AND AFFECTION between Spouses where they’re both head over heels in love with each other they’re willing to do ANYTHING for each other. It’s this kind of love that’s referred to in our anchor scripture as FERVENT CHARITY. This is the kind of Love the Believers had among themselves in the early Church in Jerusalem and the Church grew exponentially. The Bible testifies thus about them:
“AND THE MULTITUDE OF THEM THAT BELIEVED WERE OF ONE HEART AND OF ONE SOUL: NEITHER SAID ANY OF THEM THAT OUGHT OF THE THINGS WHICH HE POSSESSED WAS HIS OWN; BUT THEY HAD ALL THINGS COMMON.”(Acts 4:32)
Do you know that at the begining of every marriage, Spouses have this quality of Love? It’s this Love that made Honeymoon possible and the spouses gave their bodies and their possessions to each other without looking back; and their relationship was a true “Heaven on Earth” experience!
Unfortunately, after sometime, selfishness, malice, pride, and arrogance crept in and the voltage of love dropped. And in some marriages it even got worse: there’s total Love-Power blackout!
Perhaps, you and your Spouse are experiencing complete Love-Power outage in your marriage right now and instead of seeing the qualities, virtues, strengths, grace and gifts in each other, you’re now gropping in a dark union and stumbling at each other.
Well, I’ve got good news for you!
God is seeing you and your Spouse and wants to restore Love-Power to your union and end the days, weeks, months or even years of blackout.
Fortunately, what you need to do to get your High Tension Love back aren’t much. They’re as follows:
(1) INDIVIDUALLY CONFESS YOUR MARITAL SINS AND FAILINGS TO GOD AND ASK FOR HIS PARDON.
(2) APOLOGIZE TO EACH OTHER AND SEEK ONE ANOTHER’S FORGIVENESS FOR WHATEVER HURTS YOU INFLICTED.
(3)JOIN HANDS AND PRAY TOGETHER ASKING GOD TO HEAL YOUR MARRIAGE AND RESTORE LOVE-POWER TO IT ON “HIGH TENSION” LEVEL!
