TRUE LOVE IS LIKE A MIGHTY AND MOUNTAINOUS BLAZING FIRE. We can see this in today’s anchor scripture where we’re told that no amount of water, NOT EVEN FLOODS, are strong enough to extinguish it’s enormous and fiery flames!

Our anchor scripture further goes on to tell us that: not even a house filled to overflow with precious gifts and costly treasures would persuade a true Lover to betray their Beloved in exchange for the riches therein.

At this point, it’s important to pause and ask yourself some questions. Do you really love your Spouse with true love? Or you once did but it’s no longer so? Well, if your love for your Mate has diminished and the fire now burning very low, I’ve got good news for you. All hope is not lost. You can get it burning highly again.

This morning, we’re going to look at some of the FUELS you’ll use to get the fire of your Love burning bright and high. They’re as follows:

1) GOD’S WORD ON MARRIAGE AND LOVE LIFE
The world we live in was created by God’s Word. So God’s Word has the power to rekindle love anew or make it’s low flames burn very bright and high.
Love’s seat is the heart. You need to get God’s Word on Marriage and Love Life stored in your heart. These Words will keep your heart faithful to your Spouse and your paths illuminated with spiritual light so that you don’t stumble into infidelity(Psalm 119:130; Psalm 119: 105). God’s Word in your heart will strongly pull you back in the hour of sexual temptations(Psalm 119:11)

2) PRACTICALLY CLEAVING TO YOUR SPOUSE AS GOD COMMANDS
The command to cleave to each other(Genesis 2: 24) isn’t something you do only in the early days of marriage. No! You must cleave firmly to your partner EVERYDAY! You need to do this on four levels: mentally, physically, visually and sexually.

3) ACTIVELY PRACTICE GOD’S WORD ON MARRIAGE
There’s mighty release of power through obedience. For example, the command to submit to your husband isn’t meant to punish you. No! When you obey it, it fuels the fire of your relationship with your husband. The wife of a top military officer once told how she decided to be calling her husband, “MY LORD”, just as Mama Sarah called her husband, Abraham. According to this godly woman, once she began honouring her husband with that name, she was stunned at the impact it had on their marriage. The results were beyond anything she anticipated as her husband became much more loving than before.

Similarly, when husbands obey God’s Word and love their wives extravagantly and supremely as Christ loved the Church, the fire of their marriage will begin to burn brighter and higher than ever.

4) LOVE SONGS ABOUT YOUR SPOUSE
As a Singer and Song Writer, I can testify that there is exceeding great power in singing love songs about your Spouse.
Your Mate may be a million miles away but when you sing about them over and over it would seem that you’ve invoked them and brought their presence to where you are.

Look at the Church and Christ. One of the things that bring the presence of God and His glory to our gatherings is Songs. As we praise and worship, the atmosphere gradually changes because God inhabits the praises of His people.

Take your time and read the Song of Solomon and see how deep the romantic love between that couple was. That Book is a collection of intimate Songs that two ardent romantic lovers sang about each other. Till this day that Song is still alive.
If you’re gifted in song composition, compose personal love songs about your Spouse. Singing them in your heart will pour the “petrol of love” on the fire of your marriage and get it burning high!

If you’re not a Singer, you could write Poems or Love letters about your Mate. Hide them somewhere. By the time you’re reading them three months later, you’ll feel their touch on your heart.

Adherence to the four points discussed above will make your love for each other burn beautifully, brightly and highly again.
