IN OUR DEVOTIONAL MESSAGE for June 27, 2025 titled “WHAT NAMES DO YOU CALL YOUR SPOUSE?” we saw that the man in that day’s anchor scripture called his lady four names: “My Sister, My Love, My Dove, My Undefiled”.
As wonderful as it is to call each other beautiful names of endearment, it’s of extreme importance to see to it that you also walk in
heavenly love in your relationship with one another.
In today’s anchor scripture, we can vividly see some of the qualities of heavenly love.
Let’s take a closer look!
1) NO MISBEHAVIOUR
Those who walk in heavenly love don’t misbehave. What does it mean to misbehave? It’s to conduct oneself improperly or indecoriously. It’s to be of bad, disgraceful or shameful conduct.
A Spouse who has heavenly love doesn’t misbehave.
Cheating is horrible misbehavior and a Mate who has heavenly love will NEVER do it.
Quarrelling, keeping malice, hatred and all other conduct that show that we’re malfunctioning are all misbehaviour. Walking in heavenly love will make us deeply hate and detest all such.
2) SEEKS NOT HER OWN
Those who walk in heavenly love are not selfish, self-centered and self-seeking. They think of their Mate first before they think of themselves. They seek the joy, happiness and fulfillment of their Mate and would go to any extent within their power to ensure that they meet their soulmate’s needs. They’re not like the unfaithful Mates who think only of themselves and don’t mind the heartache they cause their partner by committing adultery.
Choose to walk in heavenly love.
3) IS NOT EASILY PROVOKED
Sweet and heavenly-love minded Spouses are emotionally solid, stable and mature; and therefore not easily provoked. They’re not easily offended or irritated. They walk in understanding just as Jesus did and was not provoked, irritated or offended by the horrible misbehaviour of those who crucified Him. He concluded that they didn’t know what they did and so prayed for them to be forgiven. Understanding will make you see insults as nothing because abusive words don’t make you what the abuser says.
Get this quality of not being easily provoked into your life because it will make you a sweet, calm and winsome Spouse!
4) THINKS NO EVIL
This is one of the qualities of Heavenly Love: it thinks no evil. It’s pure in heart. It’s NOT a plotter, a schemer and a betrayer.
Every one who commits Adultery against their partner first think about it before doing it. But the man or woman who has Heavenly Love loathes or deeply hates the entire idea of doing their Mate the smallest wrong.
In conclusion, you need to know that what we’re teaching today doesn’t come naturally. You can’t have heavenly love in your life unless you first repent of your Sins and receive Jesus Christ into your life. Thankfully, you can do so right now if you’ve never done so.
Bow your head in prayer and sincerely ask JESUS CHRIST to come into your heart and make you a child of God and He will.
