Dear Spouses, your marriage is a beautiful and sweet vineyard or garden. It’s similar to the Garden of Eden where God placed the first couple.
Remember, Adam’s first assigned work was to dress the Garden and keep it. This means, he was to ensure that weeds didn’t ruin the beauty of the Garden and that intruders never entered it. By the time Eve was given to him, she also became a partaker of that assignment.
Similarly, it’s the duty of husbands and wives to ensure that the beauty and sweetness of their marriage isn’t ruined and that enemies don’t find their way into their union.
Our anchor scripture says:
“Take us the foxes, the little foxes, that spoil the vine: for our vines have tender grapes.”(Song of Solomon 2:15)
Our anchor scripture is a timely alarm raised by Spouses who have discovered that Foxes have found their way into their beloved vine or garden.
Thank God they realized the endangered state of their vine and were alarmed. It isn’t so with very many couples because they don’t see their marriage as a key blessing in their lives that they must protect.
The couple in our anchor treasured their union and were not willing to wait until Big Foxes came before taking action. The little foxes were bad and dangerous enough!
WHAT AND WHERE ARE THE LITTLE FOXES FROM?
Please, pay close attention.
The little foxes that destroy marriages are not literal. In other words, they are not physical.
Secondly, they are not from outside your home or outside your marriage. It will surprise you to hear that they are inside you and your Spouse! They are those bad traits and character you came into marriage with, that can sour the taste and tarnish, deface and altar the beauty of your marriage.
From the nature of the physical foxes, we can easily identify the things in our lives that constitute the SMALL FOXES that we must urgently “catch” and destroy.

THE PHYSICAL FOXES
Foxes have the following characteristics:
(A)🦊🦊🦊🦊 FOXES ARE HARD SKINNED ANIMALS
This represents insensitivity, callousness and lack of tenderness.
Check your self right now!
Have you become hard hearted, insensitive, unfeeling towards your mate? Have you become calloused in conscience and mistreat your mate and don’t feel the tinge of guiltiness? My friend , look no further for foxes. You are already one and need to repent so that God will rework your heart, mind and body.
(2)🦊🦊🦊🦊FOXES ARE CUNNING AND CLEVER.
Remember, there’s a world of difference between Wisdom and cunning & cleverness. Foxes are clever. They’re cunning. Unfortunately, that’s how some Spouses are in marriage.
Using cunning and cleverness they do things behind their Mate’s back until it pleases God to expose them.
Are you carrying out ungodly deeds like keeping a side-chick or a side-dude and succeeding and perhaps bringing these “lovers” right under your roof with your spouse not knowing or discerning because they are trusting of you and you now call them “Muumuu” or “Useful Idiot” in your heart? You’re a fox! You need to repent or else God will unmask and fix you soon!
(3)🦊🦊🦊🦊FOXES ARE RED-EYED
Foxes are red-eyed, drunken looking animals. How is your face towards your spouse this time around? Have you lost your lover’s eyes and gentle voice? Have you become husky voiced and lost your affectionate mien and comportment? My dear, please REPENT! Ask God to restore your lover’s eyes and voice , etc
(4)🦊🦊🦊🦊FOXES ARE OMNIVORES
Foxes kill; they shed blood and eat flesh just like carnivores because they’re omnivores.
Spouses who are foxy can kill their Mate. Make no mistake about that. You see this tendency in how brutal and wild they become when there’s a misunderstanding between them and their partner. Just a little quarrel, they’re already off to the kitchen with wrath, to pick a knife and use in fighting. Whaaat?!
Or they go for the pestle, a bottle, a cutlass, or some other things that are lethal, as if the they’re going to war! They’ve forgotten that they’re in their own home and that the person they’re quarrelling with is the wife or the husband they married in the presence of God and a large crowd of human witnesses. Dear Reader, if you’re this kind of wild person, please REPENT and give your life to Christ. Even if you’ve done so before and are now a preacher or an worker in your local church, please do it anew; because that spirit, that overtakes you during quarells isn’t the Holy Spirit. It’s likely that another spirit has entered you. Repent and receive Christ afresh. Or else, you may kill your Mate one day and end up being executed by hanging.
(5)🦊🦊🦊🦊FOXES ARE DESTRUCTIVE
Bees are constructive and produce honey. Cow produce milk, yoghurt, etc
Foxes are not constructive, rather they’re destructive.
What kind of Spouse are you? Are you bringing so little into the union but busy using your mouth, comments and harsh attitude to crush your Mate and their good efforts in the marriage, home and family? You need to repent, Sir/Ma.

Many blame the devil for the woes of their marriage when the real truth is that the Foxes in their lives are the causes of their marital troubles.
In conclusion, let’s return to our anchor scripture.
It’s a resolution to go to work. It’s a decision to capture the Foxes, the “small Foxes” that destroy their Love-Vine or Marriage-Garden.
Let that resolve be yours today.
May you act on time and not wait until when your union is ruined before you realize it’s importance to your life’s purpose, calling or ministry.
