πΉπππ THE WORD TRANSLATED “HELPER” IN Genesis 2: 18 in our English Bibles is “EZER” in Hebrew. It means: AN AGENT OF RESCUE, A STRONG POWER, A STRONG HELPER! This is exactly what a woman is!
πππThat’s why we have secular sayings such as “Behind every successful man is a Woman”, “Behind every great man is an even greater Woman” and “The hand that rocks the cradle rules the world!” Humanity realized very long ago that the woman is by far stronger and greater than her feminine frame suggests. So right from the Beginning, the woman has never been a weak, cowardly and incapacitated specy. Never!
πππYes, she’s sweet and soft bodied but make no mistake about her real strength! She’s inwardly like a Heavyweight
wrestler! She’s loaded with enormous inner strength to carry her husband off the ground, place him on her shoulder and move him to a place of safety in the event of a fall that renders him unable to stand!(Ecclesiastes 4:10)
πππWhat’s God’s purpose in wiring the woman this way? It’s not for her to compete with her husband or challenge his authority as the head of the marriage and home but so she would function as an Agent of Rescue, A Strong Power and A Strong Helper in his life and in his family. She’s to use her capacities, capabilities, connections, gifts and talents to quietly lift her man higher in life and to decorate him. Why? Because she is his Glory as our anchor scripture plainly tells us. She’s to make him GLORIOUS! Not laughable, comic and the butt of people’s jokes in the neighborhood
πππWe shall look at some women in the Bible who functioned as the Glory of their husbands.
πππ(1) THE VIRTUOUS WOMAN
In Proverbs 31, we have a detailed account of amazing life of this great woman.
πππWe are told that she did her husband only good and never evil all their lives together!(Proverbs 31:12).
πππShe was an agricultural investor (Proverbs 31:16), and an industrialist(Proverbs 31:13,24). She was a Clothier(Proverbs 31:19,22). In short, she was a highly resourceful woman. Through her business enterprises, wealth poured into her home but she was never boastful, arrogant or haughty. She never one day showed that she was the one behind the riches of the family.
πππ(2) THE SHUNAMITE WOMAN(2 Kings 4:8-17)
The Bible introduces this lady as “a great woman”.
πππWhen you read the account of the Bible about her, it’s obvious that she was the moving spirit of her family.
Through her the family got connected to Prophet Elisha. Through her the reproach of childless was broken in her home. Through her strong Faith, her dead Son came back to life. Because of her, the family escaped a deadly famine and possessed a seven years farm produce they never laboured for. Yet she was never rude, pompous, conceited or disrespectful to her husband. No single trace of arrogance in her. She knew that she was a wife and that she ought to be under the authority of her husband.
πΉπππDear beautiful, wise, charming, attractive and sexy housewife, it’s good you always remember that all that you are is a gift to your husband.
πππYou’re not to use any of the things you have or who you have become to shame, reproach or disgrace your dear husband.
πππIf for some reason, he’s financially incapacitated presently and you are the one running the home from your purse, please don’t ever use what you’re doing to taunt, mock and ridicule him. When you do, it shows you don’t know that God place you in the life of your husband to be his glory; most especially at a time that his own glory is eclipsed by the loss of job or some other misfortune.
πππWhen you refuse your husband your beautiful body and perhaps tell him to his face that you’re too beautiful for him to enjoy so often, you’re driving him into moral poverty and bankruptcy that may result in his turning to strange women for sexual survival. But God gave you that beautiful body to freely give to him so that he will be honoured and enriched with your beauty. When it’s that way, he’s honoured in the eyes of men and women. When people see him, some may say: “See the man I told you about…. He’s just a Chief Security Officer at…but you need to see the beautiful wife he’s enjoying… Some Professors don’t even have such a wife….and she’s so humble and respectful to him. Nna, some people get luck Sha!” This is how it was for the husband of the Virtuous Woman of Proverbs 31.
πππMadam, become the reason why people in your neighborhood respect your husband and not why they hold him in contempt. Don’t let people say, “Ehe! See, see, see! That’s the man I was telling about. It’s the wife that’s feeding him… he’s my nextdoor neighbour…I know because the wife taunts him with it at the top of her voice not caring that people are hearing. I really pity the poor guy! The other day he told me in confidence that it’s been three years since they slept together as husband and wife. She doesn’t allow him touch her!”
πππMadam, don’t let your presence in your husband’s life be his Shame. Be his GLORY and God will be pleased with you!
