Dear Spouse, do you truly know who your marriage partner is?
It may sound odd but the truth is, many married people do not really know the Spouse God has graciously gifted them with. This the reason some maltreat their mate. And this reminds me of a short and unattractive Nigerian man who studied in Russia, married a Russian lady and returned to Nigeria with her only to be beating her! He simply demonstrated two things: He didn’t know the value of his wife. Secondly, he showed that he was unworthy and most undeserving of her!
But when Adam set his eyes on Eve, he instantly knew that she wasn’t ordinary! And that is why he exclaimed with the words in our anchor scripture for today.
He had been living with the animals and birds. But when he beheld Eve, he knew that she was not just different but of an extremely higher class and intelligence; and so he deeply cherished and adored her.
He knew that East, West, North and South there was only one of her kind; and that he was the only one privileged to have her and to enjoy her. And he didn’t abuse that privilege.
Dearly Beloved, do you know that East, West, North and South, there is no one like your Spouse? Everything you’re enjoying in their life are special, unique and exceptional. This is because every human being is a one-and-only of their kind. When you understand this truth, you will love your Spouse with a heart that’s grateful to God Who gave you such a person to live with and to love.
Do not let the weaknesses in your mate’s life hinder you from loving them with a grateful heart. Remember that Eve also had weaknesses one of which made her sin and lead her husband into Sin.
But despite that incident, Adam still loved and cherished her.
It was after that incident that he gave the glorious name: Eve. Walk in his footsteps. Do not let the weaknesses in your partner’s name life blind you from seeing the amazing and incredible qualities in them.
