🌹🍒As we saw in yesterdays devotional, your marriage, just like your Body and your Spirit, needs to be fed and nourished on daily basis. Not occasionally as most couples ignorantly do.
🌹🍒We also saw that the “Food” with which to nourish your marriage are Matrimonial Love and Obedience to the Word of God on Marriage.
🌹🍒One of God’s Word on Marriage is our anchor scripture for today.
🌹🍒It commands husbands to live romantically with their wives. It’s simply telling husbands to demonstrate Matrimonial love.
🌹🍒Matrimonial Love is different from Brotherly-love. Matrimonial love is different from Neighbourly love. It’s different from Parental love or that between siblings and other blood relations.
🌹🍒In Marriage Spouses aren’t Brother and Sister. Neither are they neighbours. Nor are they colleagues.
🌹🍒In Marriage, you are Spouses. You’re Lovers. You are Covenant Sex Partners. In view of these clear realties and identity, it’s a grave error for you to be cold, unaffectionate and unromantic towards each other all day long until in the dead of the night when you remember Sex!
Unfortunately, this is exactly what’s going in most marriages today, due to ignorance.
🌹🍒Our anchor scripture commands you to be romantic, passionate, affectionate toward each other all day long. That’s what the word “REJOICE” in that verse means.
🌹🍒When you consistently live this way as a couple, your union becomes a steamy LOVE AFFAIR!
🌹🍒But when you’re instead living like mere co-tenants with nothing connecting you romantically all day long and this continues for months, your union would most likely become dull and boring to one or both of you. And that’s unhealthy.
🌹🍒You’re strongly encouraged to practice matrimonial Love every day.
🌹🍒Always remember that you’re “One Flesh” in Marriage.
Your bodies need to connect with each other by embraces, hugs, kisses, caresses, touching, fingering, etc, in the course of the day. This is Marriage. This is the true love affair and its pleasing in the sight of God. And as you and your spouse practice it, your love for each will keep growing, widening and deepening!
