IN THE SEVENTH CHAPTER OF the Song of Solomon, we read the following:

“…the joints of thy thighs are like jewels, the work of the hands of a cunning workman.
Thy navel is like a round goblet, which wanteth not liquor
Thy two breasts are like two young roes that are twins.”(Song of Solomon 7:1b, 7:2a & 7:3)
This is an unabashed, open and very explicit expression of love that leaves the lover so admired impacted for a long time to come.

If they were whispered in the ears, they’d cause smiles on the face of the lady so admired. If they were spoken out loud or even written to be read by the lady so cherished, she’d be delighted. But how much more when, they’re a melodious song composed specially for her ! She would be far more delighted. She’d learn the Song and it’s words and the melody etched in her mind forever!

Our concern this morning isn’t even the melody of the Song, which we have no means of knowing, but the ability of the gentleman to look at his Beloved, take in everything he saw and mirror them back in a song! Our focus is also the liberty and free mindedness of the lady to allow him see all his fancy desired, since she believed that she was his.

When Christ was physically on Earth, part of His mission was to grant “recovering of sight to the blind”(Luke 4:18).

One of the things that befell Man when he fell into Sin in the Garden of Eden was that, his spiritual eyesight wasn’t just blurred, it was completely damaged!

And that’s why we have today, multiplied millions of Spouses who are married to good-looking, amorous, sensuous and sexually attractive marriage partners but can’t see the glory and glamour in their mate because they’re blind spiritually! Yes, the spiritual eyesight controls the physical eyes.

Sir/Ma, Marriage is a “one flesh” life. It’s a bodily union of a mature man and woman. That’s why God placed the first couple together in the nude: so they’d consciously and openly look, see and take in all of each other’s nakedness and store the sights in their memories to meditate on them. Meditating on the nakedness of your Mate engrains and builds them into your heart and mind, consolidating and strengthening your mutual soul tie.

When in your marriage you and your mate freely feast your eyes on each other’s body and that often, what you see will be stored up in your hearts’ memory banks and would find expression as admiration, adulation, praise, love songs, poetry and other forms of positive expressions.

Someone long ago called clothes “The Badge Of Shame” and he’s right. This is especially in Marriage. Unfortunately, many couples ignorantly prefer to be almost always fully covered with this Badge than wear their nakedness which is spouses’ royal regalia.

It’s time for Spouses to wake up to the practice of spending time together in the nude state in the strict privacy of their bedrooms; reclaiming the beautiful life that was lost in Eden long ago. Will God be pleased with such? Oh sure! He will be greatly pleased as that is presenting to him what He used to see in Eden before sin interrupted it.

Yes, it’s time to return to the Garden of Eden. From time to time, get in your bedroom, lock the door, put off “The Badge Of Shame” and spend time together in your Glorious Birthday Suit. Not because you want to have sexual intimacy but to be together and visually feast on each other’s Body. It will draw you closer and make your love life sweeter, richer, deeper and fonder!
