🍬🍿🍭During my second year in secondary school, a smart Igbo entrepreneur came to our school with a huge pack of the book he had authored. It was a book of Recipes.
🍬🍿🍭Since he was authorized by the Principal, the school bell was rung and the entire student populace gathered and he demonstrated how to make ice-cream and other eatables. By the time he was done boys rushed to buy his book. He apparently sold scores of the book that morning. Yours sincerely bought one too.
🍬🍿🍭During the next holiday I gleefully opened the “Book Of Recipes” and set out to make Sugar. I bought all that needed to be used and followed the book’s instructions on Sugar production. Alas, no sugar came out of my frantic cookery efforts.
🍬🍿🍭Looking back, I think the “Book of Recipes” was a scam. Till I left secondary school no student testified to making anything from following that book.
🍬🍿🍭But since it was just three years after the Nigerian civil war, I strongly suspect that the “Author” wrote the small volume to make quick money.
🍬🍿🍭But when the servants at the marriage feast in Cana, Galilee followed the short but truthful instruction of Mary the Mother of our Lord Jesus Christ, as we have in our anchor scripture, six pots of fresh, fragrant and refreshing wine was the outcome. And suddenly there was great joy in the marriage ceremony.
🍬🍿🍭What’s our lesson today? It’s this: take human ideas and concepts on Marriage with a lot of caution.
🍬🍿🍭Psalm 1, warns us against walking in the counsel of the ungodly. Therefore, beware of so-called “modern approaches” that do not align with scripture.
🍬🍿🍭Beware of suggestions such as the use of Sex Toys and Porn to pep-up your bedroom life as a couple. Some of these suggestions lead to marital ruin rather than to marital bliss.
🍬🍿🍭Let God’s unfailing and unfading Word be the Guidebook for your Marriage and your union will be a sweet colony of Heaven on Earth!
