๐๐Love is a blend of affection and favour.
๐๐This means that, when your Spouse chose to marry you, you found favour in their sight and you also had so much of their affection flowing in your direction; which made them prefer you above so many others.
๐๐This is what we see in our anchor scripture for today: Esther found favour in the sight of the King and his affection flowed abundantly towards her and he placed a crown on her: making her his Queen!
๐๐But don’t forget that there was another queen before Esther. She was favoured and loved by the same King for years. In fact, he was so proud of her Beauty that he wanted her to display it before his eminent guests. But her disobedience made her fall out of his favour and she consequently lost his respect and affection.
๐๐All this means that: once married, you need to be careful how you conduct yourself towards your Spouse, so you would remain in their favour; and have their affection continually flowing towards you.
๐๐How do you retain the favour and affection of your Spouse?
๐๐For a wife, it’s by submitting to your husband IN ALL THINGS and reverencing him: just as God commands(Ephesians 5:24,33).
๐๐And for husbands, it’s by loving your wife supremely as Christ loves the Church, just God commands(Ephesians 5:25)
๐๐Vashti fell out of favour with her husband because of just one instance of insubordination. Esther became Queen in her stead and submitted to him continually. As a result she continued as his wife and her Son, Cyrus inherited the throne of his father and became the next King!
๐๐Husband, love your wife supremely and you will retain her favour. And wife, submit to your husband in all things, no matter how big and rich you have become and you will never fall out his favour nor lose his affection!
