The last time yours sincerely attempted to “think out” the origin of God was in 1987.
No, I wasn’t an Atheist. I was already born again and had been a believer for 8 years. But out of some sober curiosity, I went into the effort of “reasoning out” how God came into existence. Dearly Beloved, after some minutes of barren mental labour, I found the thoughts literally took heavy for my mind to bear and hurriedly threw them away; and I’ve never wanted to attempt it ever again!
Sir/Ma, knowing the origin of God isn’t one of our assignments under the Sun. Our assignment is to know Him, know His will and do them.
For Spouses, part of God’s will is that they function as ardent and zealous Lovers to each other in Marriage.
To successfully function as a Lover in your marriage, you need to learn from God Who is the Greatest Lover.
God’s primary and dominant nature is that of GIVING GENEROUSLY. That’s why He gave us His first and His Best: Jesus Christ, His Son!!!
Every day that dawns, He gives generously to birds, beasts, creeping things as well as to all mankind, including the evil people!(Luke 6:35; Matthew 5:45).
In His love, God tells us to request whatsoever we desire(Luke 11:9-10). And when we do, He goes out of His way to provide them generously. Our anchor scripture tells us to walk in love as Christ loved us and gave us His very life. And the first place for couples to begin their obedience to our anchor scripture is in their marriage.
Husband, be generous to your wife. Be largehearted like King Ahasuerus who offered to give his wife, Queen Esther, as much as the half of his kingdom for the asking!(Esther 5:3,6). It’s such acts that renew love in marriage, making Spouses to fall in love with each other all over again.
Spouses, even if you’ve been married for just one year, you should by now know one or two things that your spouse has an avid love for. It’s wisdom to go out of your way to provide such things for them, if you can afford it.
Be generous to each other! Be extravagant in kindness to one another. Surprise and stun each other with acts of goodness.
A certain housewife realised that sexual intimacy was something her husband loved very much. And what did she do? She one day surprised him with an offer of being available for him to enjoy sexually for the next 365 days! That’s one full year of daily sex! She was making a commitment to be available for him even when she’d had a hard day at work. That’s love!!
If you’ve been playing the fool going into extramarital affairs, that should end today. Channel the money and the energy you’ve wasting on that evil habit in blessing your Spouse and see your marriage blossom anew!
God is our Model for loving. Walk in His footsteps and give again and again to your Mate those things you know would add value to their lives, put smiles on their face and make them feel fulfilled.
