Enriching Matrimonies

RELIVING EDEN!

Scripture:
‘AND THEY WERE BOTH NAKED, THE MAN AND HIS WIFE, AND WERE NOT ASHAMED.’
(GENESIS 2:25)

When Scripture reveals that Adam and Eve were “naked and unashamed” (Genesis 2:25), it serves as profound evidence that they didn’t merely tolerate their physical forms—they exulted in them! They were exceedingly proud of the bodies God gave them, feeling stunning, radiant, and “drop-dead” beautiful.

Why? Because they understood that their bodies were not just flesh and bone, but complex, organic masterpieces—architectural wonders designed and constructed by God in His very own image.

THE SACRED VESSEL
The body is so hallowed that the Holy Spirit chooses it as His earthly temple. For every believer who has received Jesus Christ, their physical frame is a living tabernacle.

In light of these lofty spiritual realities, you and your spouse must shift your perspective. Stop viewing your bodies as “sinful flesh,” “vanity,” or “sources of evil.” If you are redeemed, your body is none of these things. It is so spiritually precious that God Himself entreats you to present it to Him as a living sacrifice (Romans 12:1).

BREAKING THE SHACKLES
I encourage you to break loose from the shackles of inherited shame. Your marriage thrives when you are utterly “body-free” with one another.

I once spoke with a man who pleaded with his wife for years just to behold the most private parts of her body; she refused out of a sense of misplaced modesty. It took a long time for her to find that freedom. This is not the Divine design for marriage.

Spouses, it is time to choose radical freedom within the sanctuary of your bedroom.

BUILDING THE BRIDGE OF LIBERTY
How do you reach this level of intimacy? The bridge is built through the “happy habit” of admiration.
* Compliment each other’s form.
* Appreciate the masterpiece before you.
* Remind your mate, from time to time, of the specific physical traits that first drew your heart to them.

RELIVING EDEN
Let us be clear: choosing to be fully naked in the bedroom is not a mark of carnality or lust. Rather, it is reclaiming a right that was lost in Eden long ago. It is reliving the innocence of Paradise in your matrimony today. It is a practical, silent “Bravo!” to God for the matchless craftsmanship of the human body.

A NOTE OF WISDOM
While you relive Eden, remember the world remains fallen!
Always ensure your bedroom door is securely locked and your curtains are drawn tight before you begin your celebration of liberty.
