🍎🍊🥭God is Love. He is the ultimate wellspring of the knowledge required to live a successful and fulfilling love life.
🍎🍊🥭THE DYNAMICS
In Christ’s matchless love for the Church, we see the true dynamics of devotion. At its core, loving involves two fundamental actions: Giving and Giving up.
Interestingly, the process of love often begins not with giving, but with giving up. This is the pattern Christ established. He first gave up His heavenly throne and His divinity to clothe Himself in humanity. Only after taking on human form did He give us His Word, His grace, His blood, and His life as an atonement for our sins.
🍎🍊🥭GIVING AND GIVING UP
His “giving up” made His “giving” possible. He laid aside His robes and girded Himself with a towel specifically so He could wash the feet of His twelve disciples(John 13:4-5).
If you are serious about loving your spouse, you must practice this rhythm of giving and giving up. Periodically, you should ask yourself these unvoiced questions:
* “What can I give to make my spouse exceptionally happy today?”
* “What should I give up to make my spouse happier and our marriage merrier today?”
🍎🍊🥭THE STRUGGLE
In many marriages, the struggle isn’t the “giving”—it is the “giving up.” This is because giving up often requires a measure of personal sacrifice. However, for those who are marriage enthusiasts—devotees of the original union instituted by God in Eden—giving and giving up are principles to be joyfully cherished, highly prized and enthusiastically practiced.
🍎🍊🥭SELF-REFLECTION
It is vital to examine your life individually today. What do you need to relinquish—either temporarily or permanently—to serve your spouse more effectively?
* Time: How about giving up a few hours of social media to be fully present for your mate?
* Hobbies: How about stepping back from the hobby group that consumes your evenings and robs your spouse of your companionship?
* Sacrifice: Consider what else you might set aside for the enrichment of your relationship.

“Brethren, let us not carry our spirituality to an unhealthy extreme. We can dance in church unto the Lord, but we can also dance romantically with our spouse in the strict confines of our bedroom with the door securely locked. In doing this, you are injecting new life into your union and electrifying your romance.”(Anselm Ahman. From Lovebirds’ Devotional of March 13, 2026)
