🐂🦣🦏🐫🐪Today, we are looking at more scriptures that will transform a husband or wife with a low sex drive into a blazing married lover who is at all times eager, zealous, avid, keen, enthusiastic, and passionately desirous of sexual fellowship with their mate.
🐂🦣🦏🐫🐪YOU’RE IN A MARRIAGE SEMINAR
But before we go further, it’s important to let you know that you are in a marriage seminar—a spiritual marriage-education classroom. Open your heart to the teachings. Embrace them joyfully, and practice them with childlike trust and obedience, and you’ll greatly profit from them. Also, make time to reread yesterday’s devotional.
🦔Apostle Paul said to Timothy: “Meditate upon these things; give thyself wholly to them; that thy profiting may appear to all” (1 Timothy 4:15). The same thing I say to you.
🐂🦣🦏🐫🐪(1) GOD WANTS YOU AND YOUR SPOUSE TO BE SEXUALLY INTOXICATED WITH EACH OTHER (Proverbs 5:19)
You’ve known for a long time that people get intoxicated with alcohol, right?
🦆And you also know that some people are helplessly addicted to heroin, marijuana, cocaine, and other destructive substances, isn’t it?
🦚Now, how does an alcoholic get drunk? By drinking teaspoonfuls of alcohol? Certainly not. It’s by drinking a lot of alcohol.
🦜And how does a drug addict become a slave to substance abuse? By consistently consuming the illicit drug. In a nutshell, the alcoholic and the drug addict are both enthusiastic users of their chosen alcohol or drug. And so, they become infamously known as alcoholics or drug junkies.
🐅Beloved, God wants you and your spouse to be intoxicated with each other romantically and sexually. And that happens only as you give—not half-hearted compliance, but full and excited obedience—to His Word on sexual intimacy in marriage.
🐂🦣🦏🐫🐪LET’S LOOK AT PROVERBS 5:19
Let’s look at Proverbs 5:19. We’re presenting it in four translations to enable you to gain a clear understanding of its message:
“Let her be as the loving hind and pleasant roe; let her breasts satisfy thee at all times, AND BE THOU RAVISHED ALWAYS WITH HER LOVE” (KJV).
“She is a lovely deer, a graceful doe. Let her breasts intoxicate you all the time; ALWAYS BE DRUNK ON HER LOVE” (CEB).
“A loving doe, a graceful fawn—let her breasts always satisfy you; BE LOST IN HER LOVE FOREVER” (HCSB).
“Like a loving deer, a beautiful doe, let her breasts satisfy you all the time. BE CONSTANTLY INTOXICATED BY HER LOVE” (ISV).
🦙In this verse (Proverbs 5:19), God commands every husband to see his wife as the very epitome of womanhood. Secondly, every husband should be satisfied with the romantic love of his wife, which is symbolised by her breasts.
🦘Thirdly, he should be intoxicated, drunk, and “lost in her love FOREVER.” It’s this third part that we’re concerned with right now.
🦒The portions of the translations written in capital letters strongly call on husbands and wives to go beyond the dull, casual, nominal, and half-hearted kind of sex to something fervent, intense, ardent, and frequent.
🦨For instance, the phrase, “and be thou RAVISHED always with her love” (KJV), is a charge to wives to sweep their husbands off their feet during lovemaking. In other words, it means that a wife should be a whirlwind of sexual love in the bedroom, carrying off her man so high with passion that “he is lost in her love FOREVER”! And when your husband is lost in your love FOREVER, tell me, how strange women will ever find him?
🦛All this means that the solution to the challenge of “side-chicks” and “side-boys” has been provided with long ago by God’s Word. Those home wreckers are having a field day just because spouses are not giving enough attention to sexual intimacy in their unions in line with the commands of Scripture.
🐂🦣🦏🐫🐪(2) SEE SEXUAL INTIMACY AS ANOTHER DIMENSION OF SPIRITUAL WARFARE
“Nevertheless, to avoid fornication, let every man have his own wife, and let every woman have her own husband” (1 Corinthians 7:2).
🦜I cannot forget 1967. That’s the year the civil war in Nigeria broke out and Nigeria became two countries. Throughout my entire life until then, I had never seen soldiers. This time, there was a massive deployment of thousands of them to Idah. All schools were shut down, and it became unlawful to come out at night. Everyone instantly adjusted to the grim reality without complaining. Why? Because everyone knew that the nation was at war. It was no hearsay. It was a visible reality.
🦓Similarly, there is a fierce and unabating war on planet Earth between the Kingdom of Light and the kingdom of darkness, and it has been raging for centuries.
🦤In this war, one of the foremost weapons of offence used by the devil against humanity is sexual immorality, which is the direct opposite of sexual intimacy in marriage.
🦌In marriage, therefore, spouses have the duty, according to 1 Corinthians 7:2, to take proactive steps to avoid falling into any of the countless traps and pits of sexual immorality that are hidden everywhere, including in churches. And according to 1 Corinthians 7:2, the way to escape those traps is by having sexual intimacy with your spouse faithfully and consistently.
