AS A MARRIED COUPLE, GOD GAVE YOU AND YOUR SPOUSE THE GIFT OF SEXUAL INTIMACY TO BE USED IN MARRIAGE as often and as much as any of you needs or desires it.
Like the two faithful servants who traded with their talents and turned them from five talents to ten and two talents to four respectively, God expects you to prudently and wisely USE YOUR SEXUALITY in your marriage such that it’s richly gainful to you and your Spouse.
You’re given the responsibility of ministering SEXUAL PLEASURE AND SEXUAL PROTECTION to just one person(your Spouse) and you can’t say that, that’s too much work for you.
You must not be like the wicked and slothful servant who took the one talent he was entrusted with and buried it in the ground. We all know what became of him. He was judged, rejected and cast into the outer darkness(Matthew 25:14-30). Therefore, hiding or keeping back your sexual talent from your Spouse for no scriptural reason when it’s needed is never in your interest but for your hurt.
God gave you and your Spouse the Sexual Gift TO USE through all the changing scenarios and seasons of your married life. That’s why even when the wife has entered her menopause and her husband is advanced in age, their sexual organs don’t shrivel and fall off but remain fully intact and functional. That’s a mark or a sign that they’re bedroom life should continue and even intensify.
Your lovemaking must not for any reason be tied to the apron string of your moods and feelings.
We do not eat our meals only when we’re in the mood, do we? We eat because we’re hungry and need to eat. We eat because our health, and indeed our very life, depends on it. So we eat irrespective of our mood. Neither do we put on clothes only when we’re in the mood. We dress up because we need to and because it’s insane to do otherwise.
There are some marriages, where one Partner is making sexual intimacy almost always impossible because they’re always giving one excuse or another as the reason why they’re NOT IN THE MOOD. “I had a clash with the Accountant in the office today and I’m not in the mood for intimacy tonight!” “My phone isn’t working and my mood is down. Please, I can’t be available till tomorrow night after I would have fixed it at the Phone Village”
Sir/Ma, when your commitment to your Spouse on such a core aspect of marriage as sexual intimacy is erratic and unguaranteed, then your marriage, so sorry to say, is at risk!
Sir/Ma, there’s a need for you to understand that Sexual Intimacy in Marriage is so much more than “a mere bedroom activity” as you thought. It’s a bundle of diverse blessings packaged together and given to you and your Spouse to use in enhancing each other’s life. Each time you’re making love, you’re releasing those Enhancers into each other’s life.
In 1 Corinthians 7: 3, sexual intimacy is called: “DUE BENEVOLENCE”. The word translated BENEVOLENCE is EUMOIA in Greek and means: Goodwill and Kindness. So each time you’re asked to come to bed by your Mate, it’s not a disturbance but a privilege to be a channel of God’s kindness to your dear marriage Partner.
Marriage makes you a Steward of God’s sexual gifts. And as a Steward, God expects you
to be faithful in the discharge of your bedroom duties to your Mate (1 Corinthians 4:2); because you’ll at the end of Life be required to render an account of what you did with the sexuality God endowed you with.
“SO THEN EVERY ONE OF US SHALL GIVE ACCOUNT OF HIMSELF TO GOD.”(Romans 14: 12)
