God can smell and that’s why He smelled the sacrifice of Noah after the flood and His enjoyment of the fragrant smell moved Him to make the “Rainbow Covenant” by which He promised that there’ll never be a repeat of the Noahic flood. So, fragrant smells can evoke Favour and attract positive attention, just in the case of Noah above.
In our anchor scripture for today, the female Lover confessed that her Spouse was like a satchet of Myrrh and would therefore lie ALL NIGHT LONG between her Breasts! This woman’s comparing her husband with Myrrh shows that her man was a squeaky clean and fragrant gentle man; because Myrrh has for centuries been ranked among the best perfume plants on earth.
The good smell of her man made her desirous of intimacy with him ALL NIGHT LONG! How you smell can sometimes be more important than how you look. If you look handsome or beautiful but stink, you are an instant put-off to your mate, no matter how sexually starved they may be.
Husbands and Wives must not only look good and desirable to each other, it’s important they smell fragrant. Why? It’s because Marriage brings you into the closest form of relationship where you see, touch, feel, hear, taste and also smell each other. There can never be intimacy from a distance. No! Such a thing does not exist. Companionship and sexual intimacy in marriage all call for close contact, therefore you need to give attention to how you smell.
About two years ago, I went to a barbing salon for a haircut. As my Barber worked on my hair, his friend who was on a visit told how he invited a girl for Fornication.
