🍁A VAST MAJORITY OF COUPLES have a very vague, shallow, dim and hazy view of what marriage is.
🍁Sir and Ma, Marriage is a covenant union of deep intimacy between a man and a woman who are legitimately married.
🍁It’s the physical equivalent of the relationship between Christ and the Believer.
🍁The Bible says that the Believer is baptized, immersed, fully “buried” into Christ(Romans 6:3) and is therefore one Spirit with Christ(1 Corinthians 6:17). The Believer’s physical body becomes the very Body of Christ!(1 Corinthians 6:15a). All these show how deeply close the Believer and Christ are. Infact the Bible says: “For we are members of His body, of His flesh and of His bones.”(Ephesians 5:30)
🍁Similarly, in Marriage, Husband and Wife are baptized into each other and are fully one flesh!
🍁However, the spiritual realities of the Believer do not automatically translate to Intimacy with God.
Every Believer must personally develop a deep intimacy with God. That’s why the Bible says: “Draw nigh to God and He will draw nigh to you.”(James 4:8a).
🍁One of the most basic ways we draw nigh or draw close to God is by Prayer. Jesus said we should pray in secret(Matthew 6:6).
🍁Dear Spouses, what secret prayers is to the Believer as a means of developing deeper intimacy with God is what sexual intercourse, lovemaking or sexual intimacy is to the life of your marriage.
🍁Prayer is intimate fellowship and communion with God with whom we have become ONE SPIRIT. Sexual intercourse is intimate fellowship with your Spouse with whom you have become ONE FLESH.
🍁But you don’t develope Deep Intimacy with God by praying once every week, do you? No! You develop deep intimacy with God by spending time in prayer fellowship with Him daily. You have companionship with Him by reading His Word. And the more time you spend worshiping, praising and praying in His presence, the deeper your relationship with Him.
🍁Sir/Ma, the same thing is true between you husband and wife. Sexual intimacy is not first for conception and making babies. No!!! It’s firstly for blending your hearts, souls and bodies to make you deeply and intimately connected to each other; resulting in mutual loyalty, allegiance, fidelity and a strong covenant soul tie.
🍁Our anchor scripture shows how very intimate Abraham was with God. Theirs was a very deep relationship; so much so that Abraham became the FRIEND of God!(2 Chronicles 20:7) Moses also had deep intimacy with God(Exodus 33:11)
🍁Marriage begins with Sexual Intimacy. Sexual intimacy is what’s called “CLEAVE” in Genesis 2:24.
🍁As earlier said “CLEAVING” is to make the couple One Flesh and the one flesh relationship must be intensified to result in a deeply intimate union such as we see between God and Abraham in our anchor scripture.
🍁Because of their deep relationship, God could not bear keeping a top secret from Abraham!
🍁The basic means of deep Intimacy between couples is Sex. It’s meant to be had DAILY.
And you’re like “how on Earth is this possible?” Well, it’s not just possible but “super-possible”!
🍁And that’s why the Scripture calls Sex WATER. How do you drink water?
Once a month?
Fortnightly?
Once a week? If you did, you would have been since dead! Do you still wonder why there are so many ghostly and dehydrated marriages?
🍁Is this teaching revolutionary? Yes!
Will some find it controversial? Yes, many will.
But is it true? Absolutely! Completely!
🍁Now, the choice is yours! “Choose life”! Choose to develop A Life Of Deep Intimacy with your Spouse!
