MARRIAGE IS SO important in the sight of God that He planted an exquisitely beautiful garden as the home for the first couple. And from our anchor scripture for today we can see that Marriage is so important in the sight of God that He decreed a 365 days holiday for every newly married couple in Israel!

It becomes even more interesting when we realize that the one year long holiday is to be dedicated to doing only one thing, CHEERING UP THE WIFE! Yes, the husband is exempted from all national and communal duties for an entire year and he’s commanded to do nothing else that entire time but to give his wife Romantic and Sexual Attention only. It’s only the spiritually dead that cannot discern from this verse that God places so much importance on romantic and sexual intimacy in marriage.

When a couple diligently obey this command for just three months, don’t you know that they would easily become addicted to each other’s Body? And that’s exactly what God intended this command to achieve. By the time a couple faithfully give themselves to obeying this command for an entire year, they would become so “drunk” with each other they’ll desire no other intimate partner.

If God commands this to be observed at the beginning of a Marriage, do you think He would desire less intimacy for the couple after the first year? No.

How intense, rich, condensed and concentrated is your romantic and sexual life in marriage? Some are married but very rarely have sex and they think they are being disciplined and spiritual. When you forge a marriage that’s different from what God established in the beginning you’re setting yourself up for a disastrous fall. From our anchor scripture, we can easily learn that God wants marriages to be intensely romantic and richly full of sexual intimacy all year round.
