Remember, we’re using a NAME that belongs to the Marriage World to teach virtues that make marriages strong, long lasting and exhilaratingly romantic.
Today, we’re on the second letter in that name and the letter is *E*
*E* stands for ENTHUSIASTICALLY LOVE YOUR SPOUSE.
It’s this kind of Love that our anchor scripture tells us to lay hold upon because it will enable you overlook faults and to easily forgive the transgressions of one another.
Beloved, there is no human being that’s without faults and weaknesses and that includes you! To live a thrilling and fulfilling married life with your partner, you must choose to enthusiastically, passionately and overwhelmingly love them. It’s a decision and a choice you make. And it’s a decision that yields massive positive results.
When you operate on this level of love, you will deliberately choose to be blind to the weaknesses, faults and errors of your Mate. Your love for them is so much you don’t mind their imperfections. This is the God Kind of Love by which He gave His Son for the redemption of wretched sinners.
This is the kind of Love that’s called FIRST LOVE. It’s the love new converts have for Christ. You probably experienced this upon getting born again. You trekked long distances to serve God without even feeling it. It’s the kind of Love that Jacob had for Rachel. He loved her so intensely the seven gruelling years he spent serving as dowry to marry her looked like a a few days. This love makes you forget the pains your relationship might be causing you as you’re oblivious to them but focused on the qualities of your spouse.
It’s possible that you don’t have this kind of love in your marriage right now. Thankfully, you can have it as you ask God for the release of His GRACE upon you to enable you function on this level of love.
My prayer for you is that God open your eyes and mind to see, understand and believe that God has given you the Best Spouse already. It’s you that need to recognize that fact and treasure your mate as a rare gem from the hands of the Almighty.
How you treat your Mate speaks volumes on how dear and precious they are to you or otherwise.
In closing let me tell you a secret: TREASURE AND PAMPER YOUR SPOUSE; LAVISH YOUR LOVE ON THEM BY WORDS AND ACTION AND YOU’LL SEE GREAT TRANSFORMATION IN YOUR MARRIAGE.
