TODAY, WE’LL BE DWELLING on the third letter of the name we are using for this Devotional Teaching.
We have already dwelt on PE which stand for:
1. PASSIONATELY MAXIMIZE YOUR MARRIAGE
2.ENTHUSIASTICALLY LOVE YOUR SPOUSE
And today, we’re looking at the letter *N* in the name PENIS. *N* stands for:
NEVER ALLOW THE SUN SET WITH YOUR DIFFERENCES UNRESOLVED!
To enjoy a rich matrimonial life, it’s important for you to understand that once in a while, there’ll be misunderstanding between you and your spouse. This will occure for reasons we will not go into in this piece. You however need to know that husband and wife are like the Tongue and the Teeth. The
two dwell within the domain called Mouth. Almost all the time they live harmoniously but once in a while the Teeth gets to bite the Tongue and it’s never intentional. Somehow, they “resolve” their differences and then continue to live happily together; and send food to the entire body.
As observed in the last paragraph, Spouses are like the Tongue and the Teeth. Our anchor scripture tells them to express their anger when necessary. Anger is a God-given emotion. It’s meant to be used in expressing disapproval. However, we must never let our expression of anger degenerate to wrath and sin. Our anger should be constructive and never destructive.
Our anchor scripture further commands us to never let our anger last until SUNSET. In other words, we must ensure that we resolve our differences before sunset EVERYDAY. This is the practice of true Lovebirds. They so much prioritize LOVE that they get each and every wrong feelings out of the way so that UNITY, HARMONY, ROMANCE, PASSION AND AFFECTION would continue to flow through their union like the rivers that flowed through Eden, watering it round the clock.
Anger must be held in check. The use of it in marriage should be rare and only when imperative or expedient.
Don’t be that Spouse who makes the home “Hot” with incessant display of foolish anger and when corrected retorts: “Leave me alone. This is my nature!” My dear friend, no one has anger as their “nature”. Anger is like teeth. Every body has teeth in their mouth but only the foolish bite people with theirs. When you are angry almost all the time and your angry reactions have become a menace to your marriage, something is wrong; because you’re now like the man who bites people as his response to even the mildest irritation or rebuke.
In closing, let’s remember that Marriage is a domain of HONOUR (Hebrews 13:4) and as spouses and Lovebirds, we are distinguished men and women of honour who must not let anger take residence in our bosoms.
“Be not hasty in thy spirit to be angry, for anger resteth in the bosom of fools.”(Ecclesiastes 7:9) Only fools love being angry often and use it as a means of bullying others or as a means of forcing their Mate to do their selfish wishes. Don’t be that SELFISH FOOL!
