ARE YOU AN “IDOL SPOUSE” ? (PT. 1)

Scripture:
‘4 Their idols are silver and gold, the work of men’s hands. 5 They have mouths, but they speak not: eyes have they, but they see not: 6 They have ears, but they hear not: noses have they, but they smell not: 7 They have hands, but they handle not: feet have they, but they walk not: neither speak they through their throat. 8 They that make them are like unto them; so is every one that trusteth in them.’
(PSALM 115: 4-8)

ONE THE MAJOR REASONS MARRIAGES ARE FAILING in hundreds every year is because one or both Spouses in the union are like IDOLS and lack the ability to see, appreciate, speak, hear, smell or feel the great blessing that their Spouse is. Now, this hasn’t got anything to do with education because very many highly educated individuals are dumb and sightless IDOLS as far as love life is concerned.

When you see a married man or woman who is unfaithful to their Spouse, look no further: you’ve already seen an IDOL SPOUSE.

The instance Adam beheld Eve, pleasant words spontaneously flowed from his lips. He couldn’t contain his joy at the sight of his wife. His eyes took in her beautiful bodily features. Inshort, all his senses appreciated what he saw and he couldn’t help but SPEAK.

In 2 Corinthians 4: 13 the Bible says:

“We having the same spirit of faith, according as it is written, I BELIEVED, AND THEREFORE HAVE I SPOKEN; we also believe, and therefore speak”
According to this verse of scripture, when you truly believe in a thing, you’ll not be mute. YOU’LL SPEAK!

Very many Spouses don’t believe in the mate they have. Somehow, they feel it should have been someone else, SOMEONE BETTER. If you’re that kind of Spouse, you’re to be greatly pitied because, like an IDOL, you lack the ability to TRULY SEE your precious mate. Hey, wake up and realize that your Mate is no mistake in your life!

When you take a close look at the husband in the Song of Solomon, you see a man that was ROMANTICALLY ALIVE just like Adam in the Garden of Eden. This man didn’t just look thoughtlessly at his woman, his eyes took in the full details of her body. He believed and HIGHLY ESTEEMED the glory and splendour of the lady God had created and given to him; and he couldn’t help but sing glowingly in admiration of her. Let’s hear him:

“Behold, thou art fair, my love; behold, thou art fair;…THY HAIR is as a flock of goats, that appear from mount Gilead.
THY TEETH are like a flock of sheep that are even shorn,…
THY LIPS are like a thread of scarlet, and THY SPEECH IS COMELY: THY TEMPLES are like a piece of a pomegranate within thy locks.
THY NECK is like the tower of David builded for an armoury,…
THY TWO BREASTS are like two young roes that are twins, which feed among the lilies.” (Song of Solomon 4:1-5)

Your wife was created with the charms and feminine allures to be able to powerfully captivate your attention and affection all day long. Her bodily features should elicit praise, admiration and encomiums from your lips spontaneously. And there’s no woman who enjoys such that would not want to cleave to her man and offer herself to you.

Marriage is a love affair and that’s one of the foremost lessons God wants you to learn from the Song of Solomon.

Dear Spouse, if you’re sure that you’re not an IDOL that cannot talk, walk, smell, see or feel, then prove it by seeing the beautiful things in the life of your Spouse and admiring them out loud to their hearing.

In conclusion, you need to be a Spouse who’s not ashamed to let your husband or wife see your body in full under light. Your Spouse needs to see you fully to be able to properly admire, hail, extol, applaud and adore you out loud.

The amazing Lover in the Song of Solomon expressed his adoration of his woman in songs. You can also do yours likewise. Or you could choose to do it in poetry, prose or by pictures.
