Our first anchor scripture gives us the full picture of illicit lovers, be they male or female. When you start out with them, everything is sweet as honey and smooth as oil. Infact, they treat you like royalty. And that was Samson’s experience in the house of Delilah. He was spoiled silly with endless
affection, adulation and praise. In all likelihood, the Lords of the Philistines paid her a handsome advance fee to enable her give Samson a larger than life hospitality. With so much money in her hands, she gave Samson the biggest VIP treatment of his entire life. She served him mouthwatering meals in the best of dishes. And after the meals she went on to serve him herself with uttermost abandone and humility.
But our first anchor scripture shows us that illicit lovers would later strike like a two-edged sword and make their victim’s life extremely bitter. And that’s exactly what Samson experienced first hand!
Our second anchor scripture tells us that Samson’s eyes were put out and he was bound with fetters and taken to Gaza; the same place that’s in the News today. He was imprisoned and made to grind only God knows what!
In their anger and fury, it’s likely the Philistines stripped Samson completely naked and walked him the entire distance to Gaza naked to thoroughly humiliate and disgrace him. If they could put out his eyes, what else could they not do to him?
Who fed Samson? Who led him out to ease himself whenever he felt the call of nature? Who kept him company in his tragedy? We have no answers. He must have been left to starve uncountable times. Samson was suddenly in an earthly Hell and all he could wish for was death, which wasn’t forthcoming.
Sir/Ma, who is that man or woman outside your marriage that you’re now secretly relating with? Please, run for your life before they show you their true colour.
In our day, the world is worse than in the days of Samson and men have become far more evil.
If you’re already sleeping with that strange man or woman, chances are that they’ve already filmed your nude activities with them to use in striking you with blackmail for financial extortion just as they’ve done to several.
