I HAVE SHARED BOTH ONLINE AND ONSITE AT Marriage Seminars/Summits, how long ago in 1972, a generous Farmer brought my Dad a huge basketful gift of matured and luscious snails and we rejected it because traditionally, we don’t eat snail meat in my place.
When in 1981, after getting born again, I ate the “forbidden meat” in a christian brother’s house for the first time, I had hardly swallowed my first bite when my mind silently raced back regretfully to how we brazenly rejected an entire basketful of highly nutritious meat just because we were obedient to a worthless and meaningless dietary culture!
What gave me the courage to eat snail meat in 1981? It was the liberating power of God’s Word! It was because I was now born again! And how did I find snail meat? Tasty, rich, unique, distinct, delicious and super-sumptuous!
Today, many are fully married but when they come together in the bedroom for sexual love, which is the very core of marriage, one or both of them somehow feel awkward and uneasy about what they are about to do because some old traditional or superstitious belief is lurking somewhere in their heart and holding them back. And if one partner is bold enough to call the name of any of the private parts, the other is offended and says, “Stop it, please. Why do you call the name so openly? I don’t like hearing that name. Can’t you call it by the slang name, nickname or some pseudonym?” Now, isn’t this abnormality and bondage? You call your TV by its name. You call tomatoes, salt, cat, dog, refrigerator, etc, by their real names
and you’re fully at ease and cheerfully smiling. But when your Spouse calls a part of your body or his by it’s real name in the bedroom, where there’s no one else but just the two of you, you feel it’s INDECENT. If this isn’t mental captivity and bondage, then tell me what it is?
Today, many Spouses need to be “born again maritally” to be FULLY LIBERATED to enjoy all aspects of their marriage, especially their bedroom life. To that end, it’s expedient for you to know the fact that everything about Sexual Intimacy in Marriage was created BY GOD, THROUGH GOD AND FOR GOD just as our anchor scripture for today authoritatively tells us!
(1) CREATED BY GOD
Man was made by God in His image and likeness. This means that EVERY THING IN YOUR BODY IS IN THE IMAGE AND LIKENESS OF THE MOST HIGH GOD WHO IS WHOLLY HOLY.
So, all parts of your body and their functions are pure. No part of you is unclean. St Paul speaking along this line said:
“I know, and am persuaded by the Lord Jesus, that there is nothing unclean of itself”(Romans 14:14A).
There’s nothing in all of God’s creation that’s unclean. Meaning: all things are pure and we have no need to be ashamed of any of them. As St. Augustine has rightly said, “IT IS NOT RIGHT FOR US TO BE ASHAMED TO CALL BY THEIR NAMES THE THINGS THAT GOD WAS NOT ASHAMED TO CREATE.”
(2) CREATED THROUGH GOD
The Printer uses the Printing press to do his work. Error or faults in the machine could lead to a poor job that would be rejected by his client. The Sunday sermons of a highly anointed Preacher goes through the microphone and the sound amplification systems to reach the large congregation inside the Church and those in the overflow. However, if the sound equipment suddenly breaks down while he’s preaching, the reach and impact of the message will be badly affected.
But when God did the work of creation, He didn’t use any device, tool or equipment. He created through Himself by creating through His Word which is Himself:
“1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
2 The same was in the beginning with God.
3 ALL THINGS WERE MADE BY HIM; AND WITHOUT HIM WAS NOT ANYTHING MADE THAT WAS MADE.”(John 1:1-3)
Verses 1 and 2 above show that GOD AND THE WORD were together in the Beginning and that THE WORD was GOD. Verse 3 states that THE WORD created all things including the private parts of your bodies. And since the Word, who is Christ, is HOLY, everything created THROUGH HIM AND BY HIM is PURE. Therefore, your sexual organs and your natural usage of them in marriage are pure! Knowledge of this should spur you on to make love as freely and as often as it’s possible and convenient for you and your Spouse.
(3) CREATED FOR HIMSELF
“All things are from him and through him AND FOR HIM.”(Romans 11: 36A; CEB)
Thus far, we have seen from our anchor scripture above that all things were CREATED BY GOD AND THROUGH GOD. We’re now going to look at the third point about God’s creation. And it’s this: GOD CREATED ALL THINGS FOR HIMSELF.
Revelation 4:11 also echoes the same truth and even adds that He did so FOR HIS PLEASURE (Revelation 4:11).
When you hear a cat meowing, know that it’s doing exactly what God created it to do. You may not like the sound but it gives God pleasure. When you see the Chameleon move so extremely slowly, as if the ground is too fragile to bear it’s weight, it may seem silly to you but God derives so much pleasure from watching it’s seeming sluggishness.
Similarly, when a husband and wife feel the sexual urge frequently, they needn’t think that they’re morally bankrupt. No, No, No! God implanted in each of them a very powerful SEX DRIVE that’s automatic or self-starting.
When God sees them come together for sexual intimacy as a result, He’s happy because it’s working according to His design and construction. He expects them to throw all caution to the wind and give themselves to each other with utter abandone.
Most couples don’t give themselves to each other recklessly in bed. They’re gentlemanly, ladylike and churchy in on the bed of love and that’s why their mattress and wooden bedframes are still new after ten years of marriage.
Sir/Ma, in Marriage you’re licenced to use lovemaking to the fullest. If the Bed gets broken, don’t worry. There are always Carpenters to repair it.
And when you and your Spouse are making love, don’t think that God hides his face and looks the other way. No. He looks at all that you’re both doing and enjoys the sight and the sounds because He created all these features for HIS PLEASURE.
It means then that when you allow ignorance, traditions, culture, taboos, myths, superstitions, quarrels and malice keep you apart from sexual intimacy for weeks, months, or worse still for years, as some couples’ case is, you rob God of the pleasures that, that aspect of your marriage should give Him.
Always remember that God created sexual intimacy in marriage BY HIMSELF, THROUGH HIMSELF AND FOR HIMSELF.
Stop depriving Him of the pleasures that are His from each and every aspect of your Marriage.

🍷🍗 TAKE-HOME LESSON: GOD CREATED THE COUPLE’S BODIES AND SEXUAL INTIMACY BY HIMSELF, THROUGH HIMSELF AND FOR HIMSELF.
THEREFORE SEXUAL INTIMACY IN MARRIAGE IS PURE!
