🌄🤎🫘🚪Long ago in the 1970s, a male relative of mine, who was about the same age as me, was sent early in the morning by our uncle Mr. ABC to deliver a message to Mr. XYZ. Of course, he knew the home of Mr. XYZ and so sped off like a rocket, racing as if it was an emergency.
🌄🤎🫘🚪THE DUE BENEVOLENCE DANCERS
Upon getting to Mr. XYZ’s doorsteps and finding the door open, he didn’t think it necessary to knock. He simply walked into the sitting room and headed straight into the bedroom, only to meet the master of the household and his wife fully in their “birthday suits.” The husband was doing the “Due Benevolence Dance” with his lovely wife responding in harmonious accord from below, and each of them breathing heavily like dinosaurs.
🌄🤎🫘🚪MORE BLUNDERS Meeting the full-blown adult scene and seeing the unexpected spectacle, he blundered even further. Rather than turning and walking out of the room discreetly, he stood there and delivered the full message before leaving.
🌄🤎🫘🚪WHEN FREEDOM FROZE!
After his departure, do you think the “Due Benevolence Dance” still continued? It is most unlikely, because the abrupt and embarrassing intrusion of a boy from outside the home must have completely unsettled them, freezing their mood. They probably began blaming each other over what gave room to the ugly occurrence: the unlocked door.
🌄🤎🫘🚪UNFORTUNATE BUT NOT NEW
What happened to the couple above has happened to hundreds, if not thousands, of other spouses around the world. For some, it was their four-year-old who innocently walked in on them while Mama was atop Daddy, doing what seemed to the toddler like a live performance of “Ride a Cockhorse,” the nursery rhyme/song she had been taught in school:
“Ride a Cockhorse to Banbury Cross, To see a fine lady riding a white horse;
With rings on her fingers and bells on her toes, And she shall have music wherever she goes.”
Wasn’t Mummy horse riding? Only it wasn’t white, and she had no bells on her toes! But she could hear the musical groans!
🌄🤎🫘🚪MAMA AND DADA FIGHTING!
For some, it was even worse because their child only peeped in, and seeing Mama underneath Dada, reported to the neighbours that Dada was fighting Mama and beating her up. The neighbours hurriedly came to stop the fight and make peace, only to be told there was no fight.
🌄🤎🫘🚪”OVER LOVING” YOUR CHILD
Another area where couples are careless, particularly wives, is the area of bathing with their children. Exactly what calls for this, I’m yet to know. Yet, some women do this without considering the negative effects it will have on their son. When your son is one or two years old, you may be excused if the boy is so attached to you that he insists on going everywhere with you. But when your son is seven, eight, nine, or ten years old and you still bathe with him, allowing him to freely see your full nakedness, you’ve veered off from the path of motherly love and are now doing something abominable and scandalous. You’re quietly but surely destroying that child because the memories of your nakedness, piled up in his mind, will never be erased. They’ll haunt him for many years, stirring impure thoughts in his heart that he’ll struggle with unless he gets born again and sanctified.
🌄🤎🫘🚪DESCENT INTO THE NARROW PIT
A man once confessed that his descent into the deep, dark, and narrow pit of masturbation and gross sexual immorality was all triggered by his mother’s stripping naked before him again and again while he was growing up. The wife of a university don once told me very freely, “There’s nothing I hide from my children. I strip before them.” But this isn’t love. Neither is it humility or simplicity. It’s playing into the hands of Satan and giving yourself to him as a cheap tool to use in damaging your sons and making them his lawful prey even before they start life.
The Bible says: “The nakedness of thy father, or the nakedness of thy mother, shalt thou not uncover: she is thy mother; thou shalt not uncover her nakedness.” (Leviticus 18:7). If God’s Word says that it is wrong for a child to uncover their parents’ nakedness, is it not worse when it is the mother who takes her preteen son of ten, eleven, or twelve years to the bathroom, strips naked, and bathes together with him? It’s wickedness. If you do this, please repent! Perhaps you never thought that it is sin. Well, it is a sin. The Bible says, “Every unrighteousness is sin” (1 John 5:17a). It’s not right in the sight of God; therefore, it is sin.
🌄🤎🫘🚪CONCLUSION
How much does it cost to get a good padlock on your bedroom door? Not much really. So get one as soon as possible. And from now forward, please ensure your bedroom door is locked before you strip for the “Due Benevolence Dance”.
What does it cost for you to stop bathing with your adolescent, preteen, or teenage son? Absolutely nothing. So never bathe with your son again. Allow him to learn how to bathe himself. Enough of that “over love.” It’s silently damaging your child.🚪
