MOST HUMAN BEINGS are amazing pretenders.
One of the areas where they pretend so much is the area of Sexual intimacy in marriage. And this is most unfortunate!
I have a song on Sex in marriage. It’s a song I’ve worked on for years. Over 20 years ago when the song was in it’s formative stage, I took a walk and I sang it as I walked. Just the mention of Sex in the song attracted a glance from the person walking ahead of me. Meanwhile, he never turned back to look at me when I began singing. Just that word, SEX, swiftly moved him to look back.
Write a Post on Sex in Marriage and some married man or woman would say with a hypocritical grin: “Doesn’t he have anything else to write about that he’s writing on Sex? Can’t he write about Revival, the Rapture of the Saints, the Anointing, Prayer Warfare and other “more relevant topics” ? To such, Sex is not a relevant theme.
The abyssmal darkness that has enveloped
many married couples as a result of gross ignorance in this area is no concern for such self-appointed spiritual leaders. Meanwhile, when this same man is handed the microphone to pray at the close of a wedding reception party, he’d pray with a tremulous voice filled with emotion and piety: “Oh, Lord God, we thank Thee for making them Man and Wife today. We beseech Thee, Lord: in ten months time from now, cause us to hear the cry of a baby in their home, in Jesus name!” But Sir, where will this baby come from? Will it be dropped from the blue sky on a parachute? Or will a Cherub bring it to the couple’s doorsteps in a heavenly Pram? Or will a drone be sent to fetch it?
Of course, we all know that on the wedding night, the Groom and the Bride will undress and engage in spirited sex. Yes, they’ll do that thing you despised to read about even though it was written with an anointed pen. Yes, that new couple must make love or else there’ll be no baby to celebrate in ten months time!
The hypocrisy over sexual intimacy in marriage has dragged for too long and as it is most christians are more informed about the negative forms of sex than they are about the godly and righteous kind that God gave to married couples to FREELY ENJOY WHENEVER THEY DESIRE!
Yes, we know that fornication, adultery, lesbianism, sodomy, bestiality, necrophilia, incest and paedophilia are all evil and perverted forms of sex inspired by Satan. However, we must not allow the existence and widespread prevalence of these evil and filthy forms of intercourse make us hate, despise and look down on the original, holy and pure form of Sex that God graciously gave to the marriage institution long ago in Eden; and which He inaugurated with the divine command: “BE FRUITFUL AND MULTIPLY…”(Genesis 1:28)
On the day God brought Eve to Adam, He declared
that Man would leave his parents and CLEAVE TO HIS WIFE AND THEY’D BECOME ONE FLESH!
“4 And he answered and said unto them, Have ye not read, that he which made them at the beginning made them male and female,
5 AND SAID, FOR THIS CAUSE SHALL A MAN LEAVE FATHER AND MOTHER, AND SHALL CLEAVE TO HIS WIFE: and they twain shall be one flesh?” (Matthew 19:4-5)
Do you know what this CLEAVING is? IT’S SEXUAL INTERCOURSE! It’s what makes man and woman to become ONE FLESH. It’s what makes a man and a woman HUSBAND AND WIFE!
And for as long as they’re alive, they would need to keep coming together CONSTANTLY for sexual intercourse. It’s no luxury but the covenant activity by which they renew, refresh, nourish and reinforce their Oneness In Marriage!
Sexual Intercourse is a gift that Spouses should not only cherish and enjoy with total abandon but celebrate and always look forward to with glee!
Marital Sex is a blessing from God Who only gives good and perfect gifts.
So, always enjoy this gift with a heart of gratitude to God Who alone created this glorious matrimonial marvel!
