💘💘💔💔💔By the grace of God, we are bringing the devotional teaching series on the acronym ISLAND to an end today. We’ll do this by dwelling on the letter “D,” the last alphabet in ISLAND; and the word is “DECEITFULNESS”!

💘Deceitfulness is the habit of being dishonest, untruthful, fraudulent, and untrustworthy.

❤️‍🩹Very unfortunately, many spouses have brought this foul and ugly trait in their lives into such a lofty and solemn realm as marriage—a covenant relationship where truth and sincerity are sacrosanct!

💔As a result of this evil trait in them, many spouses scheme, lie, and manipulate their way into committing adultery constantly and ease their guilt by calling it merely “cheating”!

❤️‍🔥Well, does it really matter what fake label you choose to paste on heinous acts of treachery and backstabbing such as adultery? God knows exactly what it is, and, sure enough, your sin will find you out. The harvest of your deeds will come back to you in full measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over. And, of course, God will also deliver His judgment upon you.

💘💘💔💔💔THE SACROSANCTITY OF TRUTH IN MARRIAGE
Sir/Ma, please pay close attention this morning!

❣️In marriage, spouses become one flesh and, in effect, one person. That is why Jesus said:

📖“Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh.” (Matthew 19:6a)

❤️‍🔥If, as a person, you don’t tell yourself lies, you don’t deceive yourself, and you never manipulate yourself, then it is anathema, abominable, abhorrent, detestable, and reprehensible for you to do these same things to your marriage partner—someone to whom you vowed love and fidelity until death on your wedding day, in God’s presence, on His altar, and in the presence of hundreds of witnesses, including your parents!

💘💘💔💔💔JUST YESTERDAY!
Just yesterday, I watched a number of videos. In some, housewives were tracked to hotels and caught red-handed with other men.

❤️‍🩹In other videos, husbands based abroad returned home without informing their wives, only to meet them with other men. And the men they brought home to sleep with hadn’t the faintest idea that they were married because they pretended to be spinsters!

💘Can you see the extent of deception? They deceive their husbands by pretending to be faithful and also deceive the men they seduce by pretending to be unmarried!

💘💘💔💔💔MARRIAGE RESTS LARGELY ON TRUST
Dearly beloved, please hear this.

💘Right from the beginning in Eden, Adam and Eve were not together all the time. So, it’s not in our time that couples began being apart for some stretch of time. Of course, the Bible says nothing about Adam and Eve being apart sometimes, but we know that human nature is such that spouses stay apart sometimes for one reason or another. At least, when they answer the basic calls of nature. You know what I mean, right? So, Adam and Eve were not necessarily together all the time.

❣️And in our highly sophisticated and busy era, when husbands and wives have different occupations and commitments, they are kept apart for hours and sometimes for days, months, or even years—not because they so desire, but because of the nature of their careers.

❤️‍🔥Now, when spouses are separated by time and distance, it is then that the crucial and critical components of love, such as fidelity, faithfulness, and allegiance, have to be brought out of the heart and put to work by each of the spouses!

❤️‍🩹It is during times of separation that marriage partners have the opportunity, as well as the obligation, to practically showcase or demonstrate their commitment to their marriage vows and pledges, as well as their loyalty to one another.

💔But it’s most unfortunate that, for very many spouses today, the time of their mate’s absence is seen as a golden opportunity to fool around, sleep around, and pollute themselves with demons and venereal diseases.

💘💘💔💔💔CONCLUSION: YOU’LL REAP WHAT YOU SOW
Thankfully, the Bible says:

📖“Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.” (Galatians 6:7)

❣️One of the areas where many spouses have sown and reaped bountiful harvests is in the area of walking in deception and hypocrisy with their covenant marriage partners.

💘During my first year in secondary school, a man and a woman were caught in adultery. How did people get to know?

💔People got to know because, after the married woman and the man had ended the act and wanted to separate, they found themselves mysteriously glued to each other!

❤️‍🔥After all their efforts to unglue themselves from each other failed, they cried out, and people broke into the room and found them naked and unable to detach from each other. They were then wrapped and bundled into a vehicle and brought to the hospital that was near my school!

❤️‍🩹Just imagine the disgrace! Imagine the crowd that must have gathered as they were being “loaded” into the vehicle for the hospital, and the crowd that must have watched when they were “offloaded” at the hospital!

💘Talking of disgrace, this was first class!

❤️‍🩹Have you been committing adultery against your marriage partner and calling it “cheating”? You had better repent today, or else, in no distant time from now, you’ll be caught and thoroughly disgraced.💘💔
