SOLOMON NEVER STRUGGLED TO ASCEND THE THRONE. The crown was handed to him on a platter of gold.
But upon ascending the throne, Solomon was honest with himself. He knew he could do several things in his lofty and highly exalted office as King but Judgement wasn’t just one of them. In that aspect of his duties, he was deficient. And he knew all too well that God hates the miscarriage or perversion of justice.
When God gave him the unique opportunity in a dream to ask anything, his request was for one thing: the ability to be a good Judge and God granted him his request.
Sir/Ma, in what aspect of your Marriage are you deficient, weak, wanting, lacking or inadequate? You had better be honest with yourself and seek God’s help before that deficiency brings you to unexpected ruin and humiliation; as it has done to many.
(1) ANGER, WRATH OR FIGHTING SPIRIT
Are you easily provoked to fight your husband or wife? Do you experience a blinding rage or wrath that makes you suddenly unafraid of using the kitchen knife to stab your Mate over mild and insignificant issues? Won’t you, like Solomon, humbly own up your weakness in this area and ask God to mercifully deliver you?
Many are languishing in prisons TODAY because of what they did in their Marriage in the heat of uncontrolled ANGER!
A lady had a misunderstanding with her husband and a family friend came in and settled them. But after the family friend left, she hit the husband with a broken bottle and the man bled profusely and died! She’s been behind bars for years awaiting the hangman’s noose!
A Pastor, was in the habit of beating up his wife. She never fought back. And then one day, he kicked her in the chest and she eventually died. His Ministry is shut down while he’s in prison. Think of their poor children who are now deprived of both father and mother!
(2) SEXUAL LUST, LASCIVIOUSNESS AND EVIL CONCUPISCENCE
Are you full of sexual lust even though married? Do you find yourself often sliding into immorality despite the fact that you have a responsible and loving Spouse at home? And somehow you’re not even alarmed about it. Beloved, if your excuse for feeling comfortable with these sins is that “no man is perfect” or “everybody is doing it” then know that you’re treading a very dangerous ground.
I read of housewife who went to see a so-called Preacher for spiritual help and it turned out that they both got involved in sexual immorality. When she became pregnant, the Preacher in his desperation to cover his tracks killed the woman’s husband. And then retribution went to work swiftly and they were both arrested, tried and convicted. They’re languishing in jail and perhaps awaiting the Executioner’s noose, lethal injection or the electric chair. If before their acts of Adultery they were told that “ordinary” SEXUAL LUST could lead to manslaughter or murder, they wouldn’t have believed it!
Dearly Beloved, Solomon was honest with himself and asked God’s help in the area where he was WEAK as a King and he obtained divine help. Won’t you be honest with yourself TODAY and talk to God about that particular area of your life as a married man or woman, where you’re weak, wanting, lacking and deficient? Could it be adultery, masturbation, homosexuality, lesbianism, paedophilia, bestiality, pornography or secret prostitution as a married woman?
Whatever your area of weakness in Marriage, GO BEFORE GOD IN PRAYER AND ASK HIM FOR MERCY, GRACE AND POWER to enable you triumph over them. Seek divine help from God before that habit lands you in jail to serve a life sentence or to face the Executioner.
“LET US THEREFORE COME BOLDLY UNTO THE THRONE OF GRACE, THAT WE MAY OBTAIN MERCY, AND FIND GRACE TO HELP IN TIME OF NEED.”(Hebrews 4:16)
