LONG BEFORE OURS,
THERE HAVE BEEN GENERATIONS OF MEN AND WOMEN who, unfortunately, had no biblical understanding of Marriage. As soon as the wives had children, they shifted their attention and affection from their husbands to the children and the man suddenly found himself locked out of the corridors of the palace of her love. Many of those men read this as a sign that it was time to marry a new wife or to join the vast army of whoremongers who regularly patronized prostitutes; even though they were married.
It was also a generation of men who measured the romantic sweetness of women by the angular position of their breasts. To them, once their wife’s breasts had “fallen”, it was time to hit the streets in search of girls with “pointed breasts”. The sad truth is that both male and female of those generations paid dearly for their ignorance. They had tattered, battered and miserable love lives with some of them dying shameful deaths as a result of venereal diseases.
Sir/Ma, God gave you a lovelife that’s constructed by Him. It’s designed to last till your last breathe and that’s why He has ordained that only Death should separate you and your Spouse.
If you both live to be 90 years old, know assuredly that your love lives are equipped and fortified to function efficiently for that long and even more. You only need to walk by faith and in godliness and you’ll see the marvels of your lovelife.
Moses, the Servant of God married a new wife when he was well past the age of 80. Do you think that he was a worn out old man in that Marriage? No! He was as strong in that Marriage as he was in his ministry that involved walking up cragy mountains.
As we can see in our anchor scripture for today, Father Abraham married Keturah, a young and energetic woman, when he was past 140 years old. Do you think he was a tired and yawning old man that depended on aphrodisiacs and drugs to cope with the bedroom demands of his young wife? Never! He was so romantically titanic he fathered six healthy children in that Marriage! He was a very fit bridegroom and husband. The Spirit of God in him kept him strong romantically and sexually.
When you walk with God and have the Holy Spirit dwelling inside of you, He’s there to guide, help and teach you in every aspect of your life including your love life in Marriage. The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of LOVE. He’s Expert in all the kinds of Love: Agape, Phileo and Eros. Whatever your age, He’s there to help and teach you.
But first you need to have HIM living in you to enjoy His matrimonial ministries. If you want Him in your heart, then repent of your Sins and ask Jesus Christ to come into your heart(John 1:12). Jesus will then come into your life with the Holy Spirit and make you a child of God. And your lovelife will be on a new footing.
“GODLINESS IS PROFITABLE UNTO ALL THINGS, HAVING PROMISE OF THE LIFE THAT NOW IS, AND OF THAT WHICH IS TO COME.”(1 Timothy 4:8B)
