GRADUALISM

Scripture:
‘LOVE IS PATIENT’
(1 CORINTHIANS 13:4A)

🧱🧱🧱In the last two paragraphs of yesterday’s teaching, titled AMRAM AND JOCHEBED: THEY CHOSE A COMPLETE MARRIAGE, we said:

“Practise a complete biblical marriage that has every feature of love life intact and working, just as Amram and Jochebed did.

Don’t let fear, tradition, culture, or taboos keep you from kissing, embracing, hugging, smooching, and the myriad of other lovely expressions of passion and affection that God approves of.”

🧱🧱🧱CALMING YOUR MIND
Someone may say, “How did you know that Amram and Jochebed practised everything that couples ought to do in the bedroom? Were you there? Did the Bible reveal any such thing? Stop adding to the Word of God!”

🧱Sir/Ma, we’re not attempting to add to the Bible. Of course, it’s true that the Bible didn’t document how far they went in their love life. But we know assuredly that since they were not afraid of the king’s edict and were audacious enough to marry, enjoy marital intimacy, and raise children despite the heavy penalty involved in giving birth to a son, they definitely weren’t afraid to carry out the full and complete expressions of married intimacy in the privacy of their bedroom.

🧱After all, the Egyptians were not present to monitor, measure, or control the extent of their bedroom liberty. So, we are certain that Amram and Jochebed kissed, embraced, hugged, caressed, and smooched freely.

🧱🧱🧱GRADUALISM IN LOVE LIFE
God is the Designer and Creator of life, and He built the process of gradualism into it.

🧱What is gradualism?

🧱Gradualism is the concept or process of change happening gradually and in small steps rather than through sudden, drastic shifts. That’s why a child starts in nursery school and moves upwards gradually through several years of primary school education before proceeding to secondary school, and so on.

🧱🧱🧱GRADUALISM IN THE BEDROOM
In marriage, kissing, embracing, hugging, smooching, and the myriad of other lovely expressions of passion and affection that God approves of are not only good and important; they are imperative because they are the primary building blocks with which good, durable, and memorable times of intimacy are constructed.

🧱Lovemaking shouldn’t begin with the husband immediately proceeding to intercourse as soon as they are in bed, as many men hurriedly do. It should be a gradual process that begins with those basic building blocks for constructing memorable intimacy that we mentioned earlier. This is what makes bedroom life a win-win experience for both parties—the husband and the wife—and ensures that neither feels used and discarded.

🧱🧱🧱TERTIARY LOVE
Contrary to what many people think, kissing, embracing, hugging, smoothing, cuddling up on the sofa, etc., are not American or European cultural practices. They are part of our human instincts and nature. Neither are they minor or trivial matrimonial activities. And they were never meant to be practised only in the first year of marriage and thereafter regarded as obsolete.

🧱They are the primary stages of intimacy that prepare the mind, heart, and body for the tertiary level of intimacy, which is the joining of the male and female sexual organs.

🧱Gradualism in the bedroom means that you don’t rush during intimacy. After all, the Bible tells us that “Love is patient.” Instead, you observe the process of moving gradually from looking at each other, undressing, touching, embracing, hugging, kissing, and so on, gradually and patiently until you reach the level of complete union and soar together into the troposphere, stratosphere, mesosphere, thermosphere, and exosphere of love, before returning to planet Earth.

🧱🧱🧱CONCLUSION
When some married people say, “Sex is overrated; it’s not as enjoyable as they make it seem,” they say so because they don’t apply the concept of gradualism in the bedroom. They skip the nursery and primary stages and rush to the tertiary level of intimacy, which may last only three minutes because of their lack of skill in prolonging it.

🧱Practise gradualism, and you’ll enjoy a glorious intimate life.🧱
