GOD IS HOLY AND THERE IS NO PARTIALLY with Him. He doesn’t give some good spouses and hand others bad Mates. The truth is, you and your Partner decide what kind of marriage you’ll have: a unique and pacesetting union or a tattered and battered relationship that no one respects.
Your Matrimony could become one of the best on Earth all depending on how much obedience you give to God’s Word on Marriage. If you’re halfhearted in your application of God’s Word on Marriage in your relationship, you’ll have a weak and unhealthy union. But if you’re both fanatical in your obedience to them, you’ll have a marriage that’s continually sweet, strong and exhilarating!
Living your married life is comparable to cake baking. There is a special kind of taste and quality that your application of each specific command of God on Marriage brings into your union.
For instance, in one of our recent devotional teachings, we taught that Spouses are more than mere husband and wife: they are ROMANTIC FRIENDS. And in digression we said:
“In giving you a marriage Partner, God has given you A TOTAL LOVER! Isn’t the sheer knowledge of this wonderful?
“For husbands, this means that YOU HAVE IN YOUR WIFE ALL AND EVERYTHING THAT A BEAUTIFUL AND ALLURING WOMAN COULD BE TO A RED-BLOODED MAN: SHE’S YOUR GIRLFRIEND, YOUR SUGAR BABY, SUGAR MUMMY, SIDE-CHICK, SWEET SIXTEEN, SWEET SEVENTEEN, SWEET 18, 20, 21, 25; SHE’S YOUR QUEEN, YOUR EMPRESS AND SO MUCH MORE.
“AND FOR WIVES, YOU HAVE IN YOUR HUSBAND A TOTAL MAN. HE’S YOUR LOVER BOY, PLAYBOY, SWEETHEART, CASANOVA, SUGAR DADDY, SUGARCANE; YOUR KING, PRINCE CHARMING AND SO MUCH.”
When you believe all the above and practice them in your marriage, yours will be an ever thrilling covenant relationship where none of you will yield to extramarital affairs because you have in your Spouse all that you need in a person of the opposite sex.
When you both believe in the matrimonial commands on honouring each other and give obedience to it, you’ll respect, esteem and highly regard each other; and incidents of belittling or despising each other will be nill or highly lessened.
As a young convert, my Pastor in 1980 taught me that “Life is the expression of doctrine”. In other words, you’ll live out the creed you believe.
Make God’s Word on Marriage your cherished matrimonial creed, doctrine, philosophy, belief and credo. Back that belief with a fanatical and consistent obedience and you’ll have a pacesetting union that will greatly bless and enrich you and your Spouse and also become an inspiration to many other couples.
