Enriching Matrimonies

IN 2026, INVEST IN YOUR MARRIAGE!

Scripture:
’11 Come, my beloved, let us go forth into the field; let us lodge in the villages. 12 Let us get up early to the vineyards; let us see if the vine flourish, whether the tender grape appear, and the pomegranates bud forth: there will I give thee my loves.’
(SONG OF SOLOMON 7:11-12)

It’s a brand new year. It’s 2026!

And one of the beautiful things we desire and anticipate in a new year is progress that comes in form of visible growth, emergence of new things, transformation, increase in finances and of course, a better quality of life.

But do you know that most times when people are feverishly making plans for a new year, they rarely think of including a plan on how their matrimonial lives could get better, stronger and sweeter? This shows how so little most couples value their marriage.

Sir/Ma, let this year be different. Why? Because your marriage is too important a part of your lives to be left to chance. Your marriage is the bedrock on which your family, home and household rest. You must have a plan to strengthen, fortify and consolidate it from time to time in the course of the year. And that’s where adhering to our anchor scripture comes in.

Our anchor scripture shows one of the ways Spouses could invest in their relationship. The couple in our anchor scripture invested in renewing their union by going on a “Love Vacation” that was laced with adventure!

Sir/Ma, you and your marriage partner need to sit down and create a plan for your marriage for the year.

Sit down together and review your union. What marital practices have you abandoned. Is it kissing? Embracing? Hugging? Lapping your wife? Bathing together? Shaving each other’s pubic hairs? Massaging one another?

Seriously speaking, the reason so many marriages are dull, boring and tiresome is because certain pleasant and novel romantic practices they joyfully embraced and practiced as young couples have since been abandoned.

Sir/Ma, when was the last time you and your spouse went on a Saturday Love Retreat in some fine hotel? Perhaps, you’ve never even thought of it! This year, plan one. It doesn’t have to be in an expensive hotel.

Don’t say that you can’t afford it. If you know the positive impact it will make on your union, you will eagerly save towards one every year.

The truth is, your love life which is your Marriage wasn’t designed by God to be lived continuously within the four walls of your house. That’s one of the romantic secrets the couple in our anchor scripture knew and practiced.

The woman in our anchor scripture suggested that they go into the vineyards in the early hours of the morning when people wouldn’t be moving about yet and there she would allow her man make love to her. She was offering her man outdoor sexual intimacy: right under the open sky! Isn’t this fabulous and adventurous?

Sir/Ma, let your marriage be full of the fabulous and the adventurous in 2026. Enough of doing things in the same old way year after year.

Use your minds! Be open to new ideas that God will drop in your spirit for the renewal of your Marriage. Implement them and see your Marriage transformed from glory to glory!
