AFTER GOD INSTITUTED MARRIAGE IN EDEN, He didn’t deem it necessary to instruct the first couple on Love, Submission, Faithfulness in Sexual Intimacy, etc. This was because they had an inborn knowledge of how to conduct themselves in Marriage. But after the Fall took place, all that knowledge was forever lost. Today, Spouses have to be instructed from God’s Word on how to relate with each other to have successful marriages and homes.
One of such instructions is Luke 6:31 which is our anchor scripture for today. To aid our understanding, that verse is presented in six different translations.
Our anchor scripture shows that it’s easy to have a good and godly marriage after all! All you need do (of course, along with giving obedience to all other scriptures on Marriage) is to do to your Spouse as you would like them to do to you.
Do you desire your Mate to be romantic and affectionate? Good! Then begin it. Invest in books and other resources that will enrich you with ideas on how to organize exciting romantic picnics and retreats just for both of you. You could even sponsor them. As your Mate enjoys them, it’s a matter of time and they’ll suggest sponsoring one or taking over the “project” permanently.
Do you love to treated with respect by your Mate? Then treat them with respect also. Never shout at them. Never for any reason be rude towards them.
Is your Mate presently not as “hot” in bed as you would wish? The answer is not to nag, compare and make them feel unmanly or not sexy enough as a wife. When you do so, you compound a manageable challenge and the outcome may be more disastrous than you could ever imagine. This is because Sex is a very delicate subject. You must never for any reason make your spouse feel inadequate in that area. Instead, walk in obedience to our anchor scripture for today. Double your own sexual contribution in the Marriage. Praise the inputs of your Mate in the bedroom instead of finding fault. Recognize the fact that your Spouse is completely different from everyone else sexually; and must never be compared with any of your former sex partners. As you invest lovingly and sacrificially in this area, it won’t be long and you’ll be greeted with pleasant changes.
If you would like to be forgiven when you transgress, then practice forgiveness.
You’d love your mate to honour you? Then treat them with decorum. It’s not necessarily a matter of age. If you embarrass your wife in public don’t be surprised if she rebels right there to defend herself and save her dignity.

The beautiful thing is: it’s not really difficult to obey our anchor scripture.
So go on and live by it and see your marriage transformed gloriously.
