🌹Marriage is so much more than enjoying kisses and embraces.
🌹One of the attributes of Love that should daily characterize your marriage as you live with each other is the demonstration of Kindness.
🌹Our anchor scripture tells us that Love is kind. In other words, love demonstrates, exhibits, shows and manifests kindness.
🌹What does it mean to be kind? It’s to do something caring, gentle, generous or friendly for another.
Spouses need to do practical acts of kindness and thoughtfulness for each other every day.
🌹When Jesus washed the feet of His disciples, it was a deep act of kindness and thoughtfulness. Apart from it’s spiritual meaning and significance, He had stepped in and saved them from doing what they ought to do for themselves.
🌹A lot of times, Spouses indolently wait for a crises season to show one another kindness. But that’s waiting for too long. Your generous and timely kindness today may just be that intervention that would prevent a crises that would have happened months after.
🌹Watch out for opportunities in the course of the 24 hour day to be kind to each other.
🌹The Bible tells us:
“As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith.”(Galatians 6:10)
The first beneficiary of your obedience to this wonderful scripture is your beloved marriage partner.
🌹Be watchful to notice when an opportunity to do them good is just emerging and reach out and be a blessing to them.
🌹Opportunity to show kindness are sometimes not very obvious. They could come in the garb of “work” or a mistake by your mate that call for your involvement to save the situation. It could come in form of the tiredness of your partner that requires you sacrificing your own convenience or rights for things not to go wrong. It takes discerning eyes to recognize some of these opportunities.
🌹Kindness can also be shown through WORDS. The Bible shows that we could have “the law of kindness” in our tongues!(Proverbs 31:26).
🌹Gracious and loving words could lead to emotional healings; comfort, edification, encouragement, joy, peace, etc.
🌹Finally, walking in kindness with each also implies that you would be very watchful against any tendency to be arrogant, haughty or unkind in any way. To be unkind is to be unpleasant , demeaning or cruel. You must therefore watch your manners. Let your attitude and body language be respectful, humble and loving.
🌹Prayerfully endeavour to be kind, sweet and gracious to each other today, tomorrow and always!🌹
