IN THE BOOK OF JUDE, BELIEVERS ARE exhorted to “earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints.”(Jude 3). Why? Because any other form of Christianity that’s different from the original brand established by Christ is fake and will not get us to Heaven.
We live in a world of imitation products, counterfeits currencies, fake certificates, artificial hairs, breasts, eyelashes and fingernails.
In your Marriage, however, you must ensure that you earnestly seek to have the kind of Matrimony that God Himself instituted long ago in Eden. This is because it’s that quality of Marriage that can satisfy you and your Spouse in a monogamous union that’s meant to last till death. Furthermore, it’s only that kind of Marriage that will be strong enough to endure and withstand the relentless bombardments of the devil and his cohorts on Marriages in these last days .
Our anchor scripture passage shows us how God practically worked to create the right and enabling environment and setting for the first Married Lovers. He had to because it was expedient. How did He do it?
1) He chose the right location that would suit romantic love life. He chose a particular expanse of land called EDEN which means “PLEASURE” in Hebrew! So the first marriage was sited in THE LAND OF PLEASURE. This implies that Marriages should rest on the bedrock of pleasure, joy and delight.
2) He planted A GARDEN as the home of the couple. This garden was full of beautiful and sight gratifying trees🌲 🌴 🍄 🌻🌳🌾🥀💐🌷🪷🌸 as well as fruit bearing trees and plants🍌🌽🥭🍉🍓🍏🍐🥝🫒🥕🥑🍠🥥🍍🍇🫒🍐🍏🍈🫐. The beautiful trees were to create an environment of disarming beauty that excite the heart and evoke passion in the couple while the fruit trees were to provide fresh and natural foods to drive away hunger and thrill the taste buds, making the heart merry. God knows that a scenic, serene and exquisitely beautiful environment and rich meals create the ambience or the suitable atmosphere for romantic and sexual love to flow freely and naturally without any of the Spouses needing to beg, coerce or persuade the other.
3) God went on to make a River course through the Garden to water it and keep it fresh and evergreen all year round. This river split into four right within the Garden. Apart from watering the garden, the four rivers were to provide the couple the leisure of swimming, relaxation on their sandy shores and for going horseback riding on the beautiful beaches!
Sir/Ma, have you observed that most of those involved in extramarital affairs go to local hotels🏨🏨🏨 or even travel out to some famous international holiday spots where swanky hotel suites offer dreamy and luxurious suites as well as fantastic restaurants and MasterChefs that provide assortments of mouthwatering dishes and where there’s a big swimming pool? Why? Because such places fan the fires of romantic and sexual love!
It’s true that most couples live in shabby environment and eat poor meals as a result of financial struggles and general hardship.
However, the most basic thing that we’re addressing in this devotional piece is KNOWLEDGE. Just know that a beautiful environment, good meals and leisure are fundamentally important to your marriage . The next thing is to do your best to provide these basic things within the means God has given you.
You don’t necessarily have to live in an oceanfront Mansion 🏚 🏚🏤🏫 or own some expensive hilltop apartments with natural hot water springs⛲⛲to have a glorious union that’s comparable with the original Marriage in Eden.
A small and modest cottage 🛖⛺🛖🏕🛖⛺ could be given a rich interior design, decorations and comfortable furnishings that would transform it into a Lovers’ Paradise. In that modest setting, you could replicate the Garden of Eden🌲🌴🌲🌳🌴 by prioritizing good feeding🍗🥗🍛🍲🧆🍷☕🧉🧃, selflessness, sacrificial love, godliness, forgiveness, servanthood, humility, exhibiting the fruit of the Spirit ✝✝ in your interactions; and richly spicing your union with so much romantic love🥰🥰🥰 and superlative sexual intimacy🎪🎪🎪🎪!
