THIS MORNING, WE SHALL BE LOOKING at what Marriage was in the Beginning and still is under God today.
The Earth’s is a large planet and consists of six massive continents. But because God had a special love for Man, he chose a unique and choice part of the Earth called PLEASURE to be Man’s dwelling place. He didn’t only choose the Land of Pleasure as man’s abode, he personally planted an exquisitely beautiful Garden in the land of Pleasure as Man’s Home. This is the place we have come to know as the Garden of Eden. Eden is a Hebrew word and means PLEASURE.
It would interest you to know that, even though God placed Adam and Eve in the breathtakingly beautiful Garden, it wasn’t theirs. It was the Lord’s Garden(Genesis 13:10). In a sense, it was a Sanctuary and a place of worship and fellowship with God. Now, you can understand why God used to come to the Garden in the cool of the day when the couple would have finished their work for the day. It was to have sweet fellowship with them just as He still does with His children in the Church today.
In that Garden Sanctuary, Adam and Eve freely moved about in nakedness and were not ashamed (Genesis 2:25). It was like being naked on the Church Altar and not feeling ashamed.
They hugged, kissed, embraced and carried out deep intimate activities and weren’t ashamed neither was God for a moment displeased or embarrassed. Why? In the sight of God, Marriage is honourable and all the various forms of intimacy it affords the Spouses are pure and holy! (Hebrews 13: 4) Not only that, Marriage and all it’s activities including sexual intimacy give God pleasure and were actually created for that purpose (Revelation 4:11). Nakedness in marriage is holy nakedness and there’s nothing to blame or condemn in it.
Since Marriage and all it’s components were holy in Eden the Holy Garden, know that it has not changed. Marriage remains as holy and pure as it was in the Beginning. And that is why you and your Spouse should boldly make the most of your union wherever you are.
As our anchor scripture bluntly puts it: “MARRIAGE IS HONOURABLE AMONG ALL, AND THE BED UNDEFILED”. Marriage is a high, respectable and exalted estate and it’s thus regarded in all nations. The “bed of marriage” refers to Sexual Intimacy between the Spouses. It’s pure and undefiled. Therefore, cast off all your hesitations and hangups about lovemaking and feel absolutely free to enjoy your legitimate Spouse.
MARRIAGE IS HOLY, was instituted by a HOLY GOD, given to a HOLY COUPLE, practiced in a HOLY GARDEN and REMAINS HOLY TILL THE EARTH ENDS.
According to our anchor verse, all parts of marriage are HONOURABLE! This means observing kissing, petting, necking, fondling and caressing etc in your marriage isn’t carnality or worldliness but sound, mature and responsible marital conduct. Therefore, be emboldened by this knowledge to cherish and minister romantic love and sexual intimacy to each other in your marriage constantly, consistently and frequently. It’s your God-given privilege.
