THE DEVIL HATES EVERY kingdom structure on earth of which marriage is the first.
The devil seeks to thwart or pervert everything over which the will of God is revealed.
Our anchor scripture reveals the mind of God over marriages: what God has joined, no man should put asunder. This means that God wants the cleaving of Spouses as at the beginning of their marriage to continue. Their cohesion and bonding should not lessen but remain as strong as it was when He did the work of joining them.
As it is obvious to everyone who has eyes to see, the devil is constantly doing the opposite. He’s working round the clock to see Spouses unjoined, in conflict and possibly go their separate ways. And he has succeeded in doing this to a large extent.
When God has planted a new and beautiful marriage, he sneaks near it. What for? To sows into it things that would disfigure, ruin and mar it’s beauty as well as obstruct it’s growth. He sows into it things that would alter it’s sweetness and make it sour or even bitter. It becomes the duty of the Spouses to be united, vigilant, and wise enough to recognize the plantings of the enemy and root them out.
Jesus said: “Every plant, which my Heavenly Father hath not planted, shall be rooted out.”(Matthew 15:13b)
Unfortunately, many Spouses are ignorant of the things that the devil has planted in their marriage and in most cases see them as normal.
Here are some things the enemy carefully drops in marriages. Recognize them and remove them.
1) APATHY
Sir/Ma, marriage is not police work, soldiering or distributive trade. It’s a love affair. It’s a full-blown love relationship of a matured man and woman.
When you see your interest and enthusiasm in touching your husband or wife drop or become low, don’t think it’s a welcome development. Romantic apathy is not a good sign. It’s a signal that the enemy has tampered with your union. Reject that state of mind and get touching with your spouse, even if you don’t feel like doing so. Activate your romance and ensure it hot and boiling again!
2) OFFENCES
One of the things the devil sows into marriages is offences. What’s his goal? To create discord!
This could occure through a mistake of one of the Spouses. What are you to do? Don’t focus on fixing the blame on your guilty Mate. Rather focus on what the Lord wants you to do in the situation. God wants you to walk in love and forgive. Do so before the Sun sets and let peace return to your union; and the devil will be put to shame.
3) DECLINED INTEREST IN SEX
Don’t assume it’s because you’re getting older. No! God’s will is that you remain a vibrant and fervent lover to your spouse. When you sense a decline in sexual interest, reject it.
4) IMPOTENCE
You don’t need to be told that God would not bless you with a wife and then come back and take your manhood at some point. Definitely, it’s the enemy. The first thing to do is to reject it. Next, stand firm on your Faith and believe your potency is fully intact because it actually is.
Thereafter, Consult your Doctor. Many times, impotence is due to simple reasons such as fatigue, depression, drugs, etc.
5) TOO BUSY TO HAVE COMPANIONSHIP
The devil also sows the seed of “over-business”. He hands one Spouse a work ethic that doesn’t prioritize family life.
If you’re that partner, please pause.
Value your marriage enough to make time to connect with each other every day. Money and career success are not everything.
In conclusion, watch over your Marriage. Look through it daily and remove anything in it that the Heavenly Father has not planted!
