AS MARRIED LOVERS, LOVEBIRDS, AND SPOUSES, there’s the need for you and your Mate to recognize the Times and Seasons of the year that particularly offer you special opportunities to expand and intensify your romantic lives as husband and wife; and to take advantage of them and use them to move your matrimony to the next level.
For instance, we’re already in that time of the year when there’s so much “good feelings”, joy, excitement and anticipation in the air as Christmas and the New Year are approaching. Perhaps, several streets of your city are already beautifully decorated by government, corporate entities or individuals for the yuletide. For those in West Africa, it becomes even more interesting when you notice that the cool and dry Harmattan breeze has begun blowing softly; and most mornings are wrapped in fogs that are sometimes so dense they limit your ability to see afar off. Furthermore, most trees are shedding their old dried leaves in anticipation of being crowned with new foliage in the new year. For those who live in the Savannah regions of Nigeria, this is the time of bush fires that leave the evenings smelling “smoky”. All these make this time of the year unique. For most people, this is their most cherished part of the year as one could freely move about; and for some it’s a time they could even sleep outdoors for an hour or two before going into their bedrooms.
The season described above is similar to the one in the second chapter of the Song of Solomon where the husband, beholding the beauty of the new season in their land told his wife that they should “seize the beautiful season and use it to season their romance!”:
“My beloved spake, and said unto me,
Rise up, my love, my fair one,
And come away.
For, lo, the winter is past,
The rain is over and gone;
The flowers appear on the earth;
The time of the singing of birds is come,
And the voice of the turtle
Is heard in our land;
The fig tree putteth forth her green figs,
And the vines with the tender grape
Give a good smell.
Arise, my love, my fair one,
and come away.”
(Song of Solomon 2:10-13)

A lot of times what takes the excitement out of Marriages is BOREDOM. Deal with it regularly by planning a low-key “LOVE RETREAT” for just you and your Beloved Spouse. It needn’t be elaborate and even expensive. No. Just make it simple and enjoy yourselves!
The present dense atmosphere of joy, excitement, anticipation and conviviality will dissipate or vanish once Christmas and New Year’s Day are over and everyone return to their routine of work and the hustle for daily bread. Besides, January is a month of fasting and prayer for many church denominations and Ministries. So, it will make a lot of sense to feed your marriage fat before January. Therefore, seize this season! Invest in your marriage relationship in the days before the celebrations and you’ll be glad you did. Have your own special “Christmas” as husband and wife several nights in your bedroom before the Christmas of December 25th. In the years to come, you’ll nostalgically look back at the time you spent together with fond memories!
