IN OUR ANCHOR SCRIPTURE PASSAGE for today, we see another clear demonstration of Jacob’s unabating, consistent and blazing love for his dear Wife, Rachel.
Even though Life’s circumstances had brought three more wives into his life when all he wanted was only one, he refused to allow his love for Rachel to be divided, diluted or diminished.
As we can see in the our anchor Scripture passage, he boldly placed Rachel and Joseph her son in “the safest place possible” as he cautiously approached ferocious and angry Esau. He didn’t even mind what the other wives and their children would think or say.
When I was much younger spiritually, I thought Jacob was partial to have loved Rachel so much more than he did Leah. But that’s not true. Foremost among the qualities of true Love are: TOTAL AND UNDIVIDED LOYALTY, ALLEGIANCE AND COMMITMENT. Jesus touched on this in Matthew 6:
“No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other.”(Matthew 6:24a). When you truly love your Spouse, ALL YOUR AFFECTION, SEXUAL DESIRE AND PASSION ARE WILLINGLY DEDICATED TO THEM and you have no reserve hidden any where to squander on the so-called Side-chicks or Boyfriends/Manfriends.
Today, many Spouses commit adultery behind their Partner’s back for laughable reasons: they suddenly felt “a strong sexual urge” and so committed Adultery! If mere feelings of a strong sexual desire in your Mate’s absence moves you to go somewhere and take off your clothes with your two eyes wide open and you actively start, continue and conclude Adultery; forgetting your marriage covenant, then you just don’t love them. That’s why you could be so easily blown off your feet by the wind of sexual desire. True Love is heavy and weighty like the Cedar tree! It keeps your feet strongly on the ground and your heart deeply entwined with your Spouse’s, though they be faraway, and the winds of the temptation to cheat cannot shake you, let alone move you!

1) GET ON YOUR KNEES BEFORE GOD AND SINCERELY REPENT!
2) PRAY AND CALL UPON JESUS CHRIST TO COME INTO YOUR HEART AND SET YOU FREE FROM ALL YOUR SINS; AND MAKE YOU A TRUE CHILD OF GOD.
3) PRAY AND ASK GOD TO GRANT YOU HIS DIVINE GRACE TO ENABLE YOU UNDERSTAND MARRIAGE PROPERLY.
