🩷💚🧡🤎😭In yesterday’s devotional message we said, “No matter how well matched, harmonious, and compatible you and your spouse may be, it is of utmost importance that you both constantly be wary of sin. Yes, beware of sin!”
🩷You must beware of Sin because it is the devil’s means of trapping you into a situation where your marriage will be either reduced, smeared, or even destroyed altogether.
🩷💚🧡🤎😭SIN COMES BY STEALTH
A lot of times the Sin the devil dangles before you may seem so insignificant it doesn’t really look like unrighteousness or evil. It could look like an opportunity to assert yourself, to prove that you’re right or to teach the other person “a small lesson” on your superiority over them. This is why it’s so important that we give childlike obedience to God’s Word even when it looks foolish to do so. It’s so important that you’re always sensitive in the spirit so as to be able to hear the gentle voice of the Holy Ghost on any development in your personal life.
🩷💚🧡🤎😭VERY MANY YEARS AGO IN CENTRAL NIGERIA
Very many years ago, somewhere in central Nigeria, a woman went to the public Well to draw water. On getting there, she met a woman she had had a misunderstanding with previously. Instead of facing the business of fetching water, she dropped her bucket somewhere and told the woman to come for a fight. When the woman refused to fight, she pushed her and the woman fell on the ground and began jerking. When this happened there were only three persons at the Well: the woman who fell down, her young daughter and the aggressive woman who was spoiling for a fight.
🩷The woman who fell down jerked for a while on the ground and suddenly became still: she died. The aggressive woman picked up her empty bucket and took to her heels, running away from the scene but the daughter of the dead woman screamed and screamed attracting people to the Well. Asked who killed her mother. She named the aggressive woman.
💚The police came into the matter and soon it was in the court. As would be expected the aggressive woman was convicted for murder. You already know what that means, don’t you? She will be jailed for life. Or even get hanged. And what happens to her husband and children?
🩷💚🧡🤎😭THE DEVIL HATES YOU AND SEEKS AN OPPORTUNITY TO TRAP YOU!
Jesus told His disciples: “If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you.”(John 15:19).
🩷The hatred of the world for the believer hasn’t ended, it’s still on and even on the increase because the demonic forces behind it are still very much here.
💚As a Believer, be always mindful of the fact that the sinful world is basically against you. It’s skewed by the devil to work against you. To prevail therefore, you need to follow the commands of God even when it seems foolish to do so.
🩷💚🧡🤎😭WATCH AGAINST SLIPPING INTO PRISON FOR A SEASON!
The married life was designed to be lived in liberty and freedom. The devil, being so wicked and evil, seeks how to make you do something foolish so that you will you lose your liberty suddenly and be cast behind behind bars, where he can put a scar or something worse on your marriage and on your personal image as a person. In view of this, you need to walk in righteousness and uprightness.
🩷💚🧡🤎😭SNARES THAT COULD LEAD YOU DOWNWARD
As our anchor scripture says, righteousness exalts. In your internal relationships within your home be honest, truthful and fair to all including your house helps. Be fair to your house helps and treat them as you do your biological children.
Some housewives who turned bullies and tormented their housemaids with overwork, starvation, cruelty and torture have been arrested, convicted and sent to jail to endure several years of incarceration.
🩷💚🧡🤎😭PRISON PAYS EARTHLY WAGES
The Bible says: “and be sure your sin will find you out.”(Numbers 32:23b).
It also says: “Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.”(Galatians 6:7).
🩷If you’re wicked and cruel to your spouse or house helps and riding roughshod on them, perhaps because you’re the biggest financier of the family economy, beware! Remember what we said in the first paragraph of this devotional piece “it is of utmost importance that you both constantly be wary of sin. Yes, beware of sin!”
💚If you don’t beware of Sin, Satan is very likely to drag you into the prison world for a season to reap some earthly rewards of your wickedness to your spouse or house helps.
🩷💚🧡🤎😭THE PRISON WORLD
Prison is a violent place. One type of violence that is often attributed to prison settings is sexual abuse. In prison, no body has time for your credentials and identity. They’re useless to you and the other inmates. Your marital status is of no use, neither is your church title honoured. Whoever’s wife or husband you may be in the outside world, you’ll be well raped and sexually abused. There’s no escaping it.
🩷For those who used to starve their innocent spouse of sex, prison is the place to freely give what they ruthlessly withheld from their long-suffering partner. In prison, the second part of our anchor scripture is easily fulfilled as reproach becomes the robe of the prisoner. For many, this invisible robe remains on them even after discharge from prison.
🩷💚🧡🤎😭CONCLUSION
Marriage is a state of honour. You’re in that honour already. Esteem it and hold it firmly. Walk in righteousness and holiness and you’ll abide continually in this honour.
🩷If you’re not yet born again, then you need to do so. All it takes is repentance from your sins and faith in Jesus Christ the Son of God (John 3:16). As you repent and believe in Him, you become born again.🤎
